I cant wait for the day when graphics cards aren't more than my entire system was

Hopefully soon when BTC crashes to $10 as people jump on the next 'new' thing.

      • Haven't you heard? Everyone is stocking up on tulips now.

      • +4

Going by history and bitcoin take up, not sure if that will be anytime soon.

      • +3

BTC has almost nothing to do with it, though. People aren't mining btc with GPUs and haven't been for over half a decade.

        • +6

They're mining altcoins which have their value intrinsically tied to BTC though.

The price of BTC is completely relevent when discussing the value of GPUs.

          • @Radical Larry: Actually most people are mining ETH as that is the most profitable to mine but yes, ETH and BTC prices are still correlated.

          • @Radical Larry: Since when was eth an altcoin

            • -1

@zjz93: Altcoin literally means any crypto that isn't Bitcoin

      • Bitcoin has historically never dropped its price to below a previous bull run ATH after making a new ATH.

The price should find support at the $20,000 zone.

The price does increase a lot! I bought this card just approx 3 month ago at $1700.

Is this actually a bargain or just another decent model in-stock post? In my opinion it's not a bargain when the comparison is against stores who have near scalping prices. Everyday people are posting the same garbage gpu in stock posts.

My GSkill Trident died, after 13 months.. tried contacting shopping express… phone number dead, and no email response…

    • -3

Why would you contact them? For faults like that it would be easier to contact the manufactor directly and do the RMA process through them, there basically isn't anything shopping express can do about it.

      • +6

Under Australian consumer law, the retailer is obliged to handle all warranty related claims. By contacting the manufacturer, you are waiving your rights as a consumer, which is a really silly thing to do.

        • -1

Maybe you have some not “silly” suggestions for BaeSuzy?

          • +1

@aec: haha, once again, Ozbargain at its best.

          • +1

@aec: Escalate the issue with the relevant government authorities as well as complain to the ACCC.

    • I got a DOA GSkill Trident and I had zero problems with emailling the support and getting it refunded.

3080 12GB version is the same price at Techfast

  • Galax brand from Online computer same price:

Seems every time a GPU deal pops up and quickly OOS, most will think its a bargain

    • Not "most"… "some". And that's OK… but they are in the vast minority.
