Another day, another gold dipped rose post?

  • +2

LOL, if you buy this you're a dip…

    Cheaper elsewhere as below

  • +2

What's the warranty on this rep?

  • +4

    Cheaper on Aliexpress.

    • +2

Thank you just save me $100 being lazy for Valentine’s Day.

    • +5

Just in time for Valentines 2023.

    • The rose here seems to be completely in gold

  • +2

Nothing says 'high-class' more than 'turquoise poly leather'
I see vinyl, I know things will be high class. Oh yes

  • Impressive.

  • +1

From the C.O.A blah blah blah “and no two are same” Feel like my missus would hate this, and I probably wouldn’t be getting lucky on Valentine’s Day.

  • +6

Dipped in gold, that melts at over 1,000 C?

    Interesting method of "preservation".

All flowers would look alike - completely burned.

    • +4

Apparently roses are painted with lacquer, prior to gold dipping/electroplating according to Wikipedia.

Some times they are plated in tin first to cut down the cost /or they use 10ct rather than 24ct. There are no details on the Everlasting Roses website as to how their roses are created.

      • +2

Potentially they would be using one of these machines to do it

        • +2

Thank you, this looks really cool and I learned something new (from a dodgy deal post). :)

But it looks this contraption would coat only part of an item (e.g. flower) facing the plasma stream. "Dipped" roses spruiked here looks more like they're covered from all sides, so it was more likely something like dscott85 commented e.g. covering in conductive lacquer and then electroplating with some gold salt solution. But that aint "dipping in real gold".

@Jef Tino: Yes this is the 1st line in the descripton. Would love it if the Rep could explain how it's Dipped and preserved in real gold?

Will also add this Rep has been caught out sockpuppeting and creating a ghost account.
Negging because Ozbargain should be for bargains, not for Reps to use as free advertising & make money by breaking the rules.

Didn't even try to defend their business. Should be banned based on running a dodgy business. Refer to my earlier comments and others.

        • Amazing piece of machinery. I ended up watching that whole YouTube - very impressive build & engineering.

  • 'comes' in 2 sizes— 7 inch or 11 inch…

  • My wife would be much happier with the cat bed from your last deal tbh

    • +5

I’m interested in a cat bed dipped in 24k gold

      • The 7 inch or 11 inch version?

  • +10

    So tacky.

Please don't buy something like this for Valentine's Day. And quick look on AliExpress similar 24K listings are a fraction of the price. And as has been displayed already from past deals, the rep is an AliExpress dropshipper.

  • +1

How many percentage of gold in this one?

  • Saw the same for less than $30 elsewhere…

  • +2

Saw this deal posted yesterday with the same seller and item.
Upon checking on it, it seems the seller delete that post and re-post this one.
I wonder why he done that, he can just either make that post expired and post the new one or maybe the seller trying to hide something from the comment? /hmm….

    • The previous deal post was removed by a moderator as the OP had created a ghost account to post it. Ghost account was banned.

They have been instructed to resume deal posting using a pre-existing account.

Nothing says overrated and overpriced more than repetitive double descriptions
    "one-of-a-kind" "no two are alike!"
    "high-class poly leather" "high-class velvet."
    "Express Priority"

Also "Best online shop 2022" is the most meaningless, self-appointed and hollow title ever

      Against the law, too:

Signs stating ‘No refunds’ or ‘No refunds or exchanges on sale items’ are unlawful, as they imply that it’s not possible to get a refund under any circumstances, including for faulty items.
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately, sale items cannot be refunded. ^ See above ^
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. Was re-reading my post and noted about their shipping policy:

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item… If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

So you have to pay for return shipping, and then they take the amount off you too?

        1. Buy item for $50 + $X postage (purchase shipping is almost never refunded, which is reasonable: they did ship it to you)
        2. Return item, costing $10 postage and paid by you
        3. Receive refund for $40?

So the whole process costed you $20 + the original shipping cost?
