I just bought this one few days ago and it got 30% discount to bring the price down to $41.93 and I have to say I love it.

It's not made in china also lol…

    • +1

Thanks mate, looks interesting, I'll try yours. And agree, I like that it's not made in China for once

      • i had the memory foam based one then switched to the Kensington one… completely on a different league… i haven't tried that one linked in the comment though…

    • Looks like a Chinese foot model tho?

And if it is, this footrest is tiny.

      • Yeah, the size(LxWxH) : 388mm x 281mm x 109mm but I think it's big enough.
What I like is that I can move my foot while resting on it and the acupuncture points are a plus.

    • +2

What's wrong with made in China? Quality or ethical concerns?

      • +2

I've been trying to buy things that not made in china over the past 3 years unless I really have to. It's just my personal reference.

    • +1

Amazon delivered it today, super fast! I like this S Korean one! Pressure point massagers are great!

      • What shoe size are you? Wondering if size is an issue for me.

      • Yup, I love those pressure points and the ability to move my foot while resting on it. You must be in Melb then coz it took me 3 days to get delivered to Syd.

  • I use Cardboard box + bubble wrap :P lol

    • +5

Well ooh la di dah Mr Fancy bubble wrap…my current footrest is a ream of A4 paper 😂

      • +2

What if you have to use A4 papers? I use White/yellow pages

  • +18

Do not buy it. The rubber continuously release toxic bad smell even after months. I have to use the bare plastic. DO NOT BUY!
Edit: Smell is so strong that you can not bear it at all. Avoid it guys what I say is true. I always see stupid people here attacking people who tells the truth.

    • +24

I thought this as well! Unbelievable stench… then I realised I had taken my shoes off

    • Put some air freshener, sorted.

    • -4

Where’s the evidence that the smell is toxic? Rubber is rubber. Most expect it to smell like rubber.

      • +1

On second thoughts, I acknowledge that if the smell is ongoing, it could end up being toxic, and it’s better to err on the side of caution. Should mine smell strongly like rubber and if airing it outside over a few days doesn’t work, it’s going straight back.

    • +1

??? It was pretty bad when I first got it, but the smell was all gone after a few days..

    • +2

Amazon has a pretty easy return policy should this end up being the case.

    • +1

On the contrary, I bought the same footrest for my partner a few months ago but we haven't noticed any smell at all. I guess it's a bit of luck of the draw.

    • No smell on mine though… Have had it for a year…

  • +2

What advantage does resting your feet on these have, vs the floor?

    • +18

This is higher than the floor

    • +1

If you’re tiny like me, you can’t quite reach the floor… in a comfortable position, I mean

    • -1

When trying to get something that is too high for you to reach what advantage does standing on a ladder have, vs the floor?

  • Old shoe boxes do the trick for me :P

    • +8

A true ozbargainer would be using those as shoes

      • +8

True ozbargainers no longer exist, now they use premium sunscreen whilst playing on their regular price Playstation and Xbox consoles

Kmart stool works great for $5

  • Need to air it for about a week outside then the smell goes away.

  • Cheap kmart back roller does the job perfectly for me!

  • Many suggestions here but product is not malleable. I use my bean bag as a foot rest :)
Easily change the height you want.

  • +2

I did consider this Kensington footrest a while back however, I went with the $29 ikea footrest. It is quite basic, just a piece of plastic sitting on a metal frame but it does the job well enough. Doesn't slide around on carpet and no rubber smell to worry about. Just an option for anyone on the hunt for a footrest.

    • That's what I am using now. Gets the job done.

  • Yeah I rate it the IKEA footrest. Simple but effective.

  • +2

I thought it was a grill lol.

  • I personally use the BOLMEN step stool from Ikea as my feet rest. Put it under the desk and stretch out your legs.

    Can't go wrong for $8

    https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/bolmen-step-stool-white-4026516…

If you want a lower feet rest, then get the FÖRSIKTIG children's stool for $5

    https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/foersiktig-childrens-stool-whit…

  • +1

    I use my speaker's subwoofer as a foot rest…

  • An aerobic step is also a really great footrest (although restricted to flat only).

Get something that is adjustable to around 10cm (I'm 5'11"). Higher if your shorter, lower if your taller.

This is the one I got, and I use just the top and middle parts, to get a 10cm footrest.

Whenever I see a picture of this the first thing I think of is a sandwich press

      • +2

I want waffles for breakfast all of a sudden

    • +2

I can confirm previous comments of a VERY strong rubber smell on first opening but also confirm that this has pretty much gone after 2 weeks

      • I can confirm this too but I've taken off the rubber pad and left it outside to air out for the meantime.

      • -1

I ordered a week ago, but returned due to strong rubber smell. It’s quite intoxicating. However, Amazon refunded. The manufacturer should rethink composition of these items, and not put profit ahead of health. And yes, degassing of this item indoors is a potential health risk.

Would neg this if I could, but I’m blocked from doing so until Feb. Can anyone help me out?

    • +6

Ordered as the cardboard box i am currently using is starting to collapse

      • Good news, it likely comes in one and you can use that box until it collapses.

…Then you can use the stand.

        • I am tempted to just reinforce my cardboard box. Its the perfect height and it just feels right.

    • +1

I really like mine. Worth it.

    • +1

Have been using mine for a few months now, good addition to the home office.

    • I used an old memory form pillow ;)

      • i actually am using an old foam wedge pillow so yeah same kinda thing, nice and soft on the lil footsies ;)

        • I have a wedge pillow as well, but waiting for that to become old before I use it as a foot rest :)

    • About this item
