  • $26.95 for my 'VIC' store…. No deal!!

  • +1

Nice deal. Now I can blow up my helium balloons I got for my marriage anniversary. Wifey is going to love this surprise.

    • When they pop she'll love it!

  • In Victoria,

3.7 kg is listed as 19.88$
8.5 kg is still listing as 26.95%

  • Hi all, simple question here. In the current covid world is it really simple to rock up and grab one of these or will I be forced to stand in a line or wait in my car or preorder etc?

    • +1

If you are in VIC Bunnings is open business as usual.
      So,Simple.

    • Leave your gas bottles outside by the gas bottle cage, go inside and pay for the new ones, they come out and unlock the cage, etc.

In true ozbargain fashion, this has over 100+ plus votes even when no one can verify the price and the website is saying $26.95 for everyone. It appears the OP has mixed up the 3.7kg refill price with the 8.5kg refill.

    • +1

      That's not true.

I can see it in the northern suburbs of Melb
Collingwood, Brunswick, Coburg, Preston, Thomastown, Fairfield, Hawthorn, West Footscray, Maribyrnong

    • I can confirm $19.80 for me at my local Bunnings

      • which is?

        • Fairfield. Swapped, $19.80.

    • I don't think so. I got it (8.5kg) in Melbourne (northern suburbs) for 19.80 about 2 weeks ago. They had lots of stock. Looks like it's out of stock now but still showing 19.80.

      • It's not out of stock, it's not an item you can do click and collect for. Every Bunnings that has these almost always has them in stock.

Unfortunately it's just limited to the suburbs mentioned above.

        • You sure dude?

Look at Brunswick for example…. listed as Out of stock at this store.

  • Anyone in Bendigo, the Epson & Kangaroo flat stores are still showing full price.😥😥

  • Eltham is $19.80 and has stock.

  • Can I replace a bottle that's really weathered and has rust spots? like this https://imgur.com/y0Tz5Ly

    • +2

Once there is evident rust, it is unable to be swapped at Bunnings.

      • Thanks EmCKay!

That's if the 16 year old serving you cares. From my experience, for the most part nobody at bunnings would care and happily replace it.
My last swap went something like this - Person at the door said just chuck your bottle outside among a whole a bunch of returns, then proceeded to pay, grabbed the receipt and self served a new one from an unlocked cage where I was within distant vision of the person at the door. I don't think they even saw what/how many I grabbed from the cage.
My advice, give it a quick wash and try your luck. You may be pleasantly surprised.

          • @gimme: good to know, thanks!

Can confirm that 8.5kg gas exchange at Bunnings in West Footscray (VIC) is $19.80. Just exchanged mine an hour ago.

    • Same got it $19.80 as well. Looks like they're price matching another competitor close by, the Sunshine store had the 8.kg for $26.95
