        It does seem so… I have linkt 4c+flubuys 4c…
Don’t usually buy anything in store (express) so don’t get the addt discounts.

        • +2

AFL app is free and gives you 4c off too for those who don’t have linkt.

  • Not sure if I'm missing something but I can't seem to sign into the app on ios. The "sign in" button no longer seems to be a clickable link. Is it just me?

Hi all, I've set up a new Android Studio Chopper that I've validated for the same state (NSW), will test in other states. I'm hoping this helps someone:

As mentioned by some previous members, updating Magisk, installing Shamiko and hiding the Magisk Manager works. You must have a Magisk version greater than 26302+ (26.3) for Shamiko to work.

If you're following dontpanic's android studio guide, consider the following:
    1. When running rootavd, you need to append FAKEBOOTIMG to the command, otherwise rootavd cannot install magisk 26 and above.
    2. Pay attention to the command when it is running, it will ask you which version you want to install. If you don't choose it will default to the local version (25.3) that's in the rootavd git repo, choose '2' for stable (version 27).
    3. It should install the magisk manager on your device. In the app, hit the install button in the Magisk tile - choose "select and patch a file". Then navigate to the downloads folder and select "fakeboot.img"
    4. Once this is done, enter the terminal again and hit enter (or wait, if there's not input for 60 seconds it will continue so don't dally). It should then restart.
    5. Enable Zygdisk, reboot. Then download and install Shamiko, LSposed and SafetyNet Fix.
    6. In Magisk settings > Configure Denylist > check both boxes for 7-11. Do not enforce denylist.
    7. Also in the settings > Hide the Magisk app. 'Settings' worked for me.

Otherwise, follow the guide as usual.

    LMK any questions

    • Interested to see whether this will work with interstate locks?

      • No luck interstate with a retail VPN (VIC). I'm going to try setting up a VPN myself and see if that resolves issues with VPN detection.

        • Thanks for the update.

    • +3

Thanks for the work Flapjack Fire ..

I've tested it and it works great for locking in the same state. I'm yet to test interstate or VPN.
      .
I just want to add a few comments to make it easier for others.

In step 1 .. the cmd terminal prompt use "rootAVD.bat system-images\android-33\google_apis_playstore\x86_64\ramdisk.img FAKEBOOTIMG"

In step 2 .. do not close the cmd terminal until after step 4 is complete.

Confirming I got it working too on an interstate lock too. Had to restart it again after the following all that to get it working.

Will try interstate on a new account later.

At some point I'll find the time to update the guide.

      • If it works let us know , thanks mate!

        • Interstate did not work. Don't have a interstate VPN option, so can't test that right now.

          • @dontpanic: Thanks for the update. So it really doesn't improve the position at all it would seem, but let's see.

          • @dontpanic: I just tested an interstate lock using NordVPN and it didn't work via the Android Studio method… A01 error.

At this point it seems that we can only do fuel locks in our own state using this method.

I'm keen to hear from Apple users as to what hardware and software combinations they have tried and are getting successful interstate lockins.

I am hoping for some assistance, please see the output from command terminal below. I have tried two different rootAVD versions, wiping data, deleting and creating a new virtual device.

side note: The terminal didn't recognise key presses during menu options (i.e. choose '2' for stable [I edited the default option in rootAVD.sh to]) and 'hit enter (or wait, if there's not input for 60 seconds it will continue '.

It's a TLS issue with wget, not sure what OS you're running this on. You might have some luck running the script elevated (as root/admin), although I don't recommend it.

Otherwise, I would just do the following.
        1. Delete or rename the existing magisk.zip in rootAVD folder
        2. Download the latest Magisk apk: https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/tag/v27.0
        3. Rename to magisk.zip (show file extension if you haven't already) and put it in the rootAVD directory
        4. Run the program again and use the local stable version (option 1)

This is essentially manually doing what the program does automatically.

    • Update: I just attempted interstate locks work with non-retail VPN in Victoria from NSW.

      No A01.

I believe that they have a simple list of known VPN IPs and are blocking it that way as my Retail VPN (Mullvad) doesn't work locally or interstate.

      • Is this hard to do?

I assume you need some sort of knowledge to set this up?

        • Might be a little technical. I'm setting up a VPN service on a VPS (virtual private server) which presents IPs from the VPS provider rather than a known VPN provider - this is like having a proper connection in a specific location.

It's pretty easy to do via Vultr who have an image/app that automatically configures a wireguard VPN for you, although they only seem to operate in Syd and Melb. You'd be paying about $5 a month for something like this, although some providers allow you to turn the VPS on and off.

I'm thinking about doing this in Perth mostly for those sweet WA prices. The providers that offer VPS' there are not quite as established/user friendly as Vultr so that may require a bit more technical knowledge, but can also be done somewhat easily through scripts and what not.

TL;DR yes but it's fairly easy.

          • @Flapjack Fire: Thanks.

            I might play around tomorrow.

          • @Flapjack Fire: Seems you might be in the best position to confirm the geo-lock with some further testing - unfortunately all my available VPNs are based in the same state I'm in.

            • +3

@dontpanic: What kind of further testing are you interested in?

I have established the following with the current method:
              1. Residential IP (no VPN) works in the same state but not interstate.
              2. Retail VPN (mullvad) does not work in the same state or interstate. I believe that they simply have a list of known IP addresses associated with VPN services.
              3. NON-RETAIL VPNs such as company or self-hosted VPNs (that present IP addresses not known as retail VPNs) appear to work for interstate locks. My VPN hosted on a Vultr VPS in Melbourne works for lock-ins in Victoria.

TL;DR, interstate locks work with VPNs but (probably) not with VPNs that you can just subscribe to or pay money for. I do suspect there may be some exceptions though.

              • @Flapjack Fire: I guess further testing of #3 to confirm this does indeed work for other states.

I'm not too familiar with the process of setting up a self-hosted VPN - is it something that can be easily done for minimal (or no) cost? If it requires a fee, it's probably not worth it for the majority of users here as costs would likely reduce any savings to an amount that it's not worth the fuss.

Is anyone else aware of any other workarounds that might help? I wonder if there's a way to spoof IP without using a VPN?

              • @Flapjack Fire: Hm which VPS provider provide QLD and WA locations 🤔

    • @Flapjack Fire: I followed your guide . However , my Magdisk version still stuck at 25.2, but magdisk app is upgraded to 27.0.

      How to solve this issue?

      • Please send some console logs.

The magisk app (magisk) is installed from the "apps" folder, but it flashes the magisk.zip file in the main directory. You might have some luck copying "magisk.apk" from the apps folder to the main rootAVD folder and renaming it to "magisk.zip" - then select 1 for the version prompt. It should tell you the local version is 27.0

        • +1

I got Magdisk to upgraded to V 27.0 (both app and Magdisk). However, I still getting A01 error when locking fuel price in the 7-11 app (no vpn used).

Locking within the same state. Locking Townsville price in Brisbane.

          • @schan11: Did you continue with steps 5-7?

Consider clearing app data, and changing device ID (device ID changer app): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.silverlabt…

            • @Flapjack Fire: I have followed Steps 5-7. In the "Confige Deny List" in Magdisk I have ticked both option under 7-11 app, but didn't tick any other apps.

I have also installed Device ID Changer app with "Com.google.android.gms" selected. Still getting A01 error when locking fuel lock.

I have also installed Applist Detector and Hidemyapplist too ,but in the Applist Detector it showed Xposed Modules (GPS setter & Hide My Applist) still being detected. Can't work out how to solve this one.

              • +1

                @schan11: @Flapjack Fire

It worked for me. I had to Clear the app data and change the device ID for 7-11 app and I restarted the device. Logged in and worked. And as per your testing only same state only.

                • @postform: Cheers, thanks for validating that.

I personally created a new virtual device for these changes so I haven't faced any issues with app ID and app data.

                  • @Flapjack Fire: Still can't get rid of the A01 error. I have tried changing the GPS location in the Android Studio setting, even set it to my home address. Still getting A01.
Tried new virtual devices, different android OS, even tried not rooting the phone (just changing the GPS location in Android Studio).

                    • +2

@schan11: I've just attempted to lock in using my guide as previously specified - it looks like they have now added app list detection.

There is an app (using LSPosed) that hides the app list called "Hide My Applist" (HMA): https://github.com/Dr-TSNG/Hide-My-Applist

                      1. Install the HMA app
                      2. In the HMA app, hide your Device ID changer, GPS setter, Magisk app and HMA.
                      3. Clear app data and reset your device ID.

                      That worked for me.

edit: HMA also recommend an applist detector app for you to check your config.

                      • +1

@Flapjack Fire: thanks this works and was able to lock in my state (haven't tried out of state)

for HMA, i used a blacklist template applied to the My 7/11 app with following invisible:

                        • Device ID Changer
                        • Applist Detector (if installed, good for checking everything is ticked)
                        • Hide My Applist
                        • Settings (Magisk Manager renamed)
                        • GPS Setter

Remember to also hide HMA from My 7/11 app via LSPosed Manager the same way.

                        • @InfamousCalf: adding onto this, I also enabled Void Data Isolation in HMA

                        • @InfamousCalf: In the Applist detector it still showed that Xposed Modules (GPS Setter & Hide my applist) is Found.

In LsPosed manager : - Both GPS setter and Hide my applist is in enable modules status.
                          - GPS Setter (only 7-11 app is ticked)
                          - Hide my Applist (only System Framework ticked)

Magdisk : - Denylist have both options ticked under 7-11 app, not other app was ticked.
                          - Hide magdosk app (renamed it as setting)
                          - Have Shamiko 1.0.1 , Universal SafteyNet Fix (V2.4.0), Zygisk-LSposed(v1.9.2) installed
                          - Both Magisk and Magisk tiles are showing V27(27000) installed.

I have tried Device ID changer by Silverlab to change Device ID.

                          Still getting A01.

Did I do something incorrectly? Please help

                          • +1

@schan11: For hide my applist - there are two settings you have to fiddle around with.

The HMA app itself you should be ticking 7-11 to apply the hiding to the app.
And then in the HMA "module" with in LSposed, you then select which apps you want the module to hide.

That made my app work from A01 -> locking in.

                            • @postform: In the HMA app, I only have 7-11 app enabled (Enable Hide) in the App Manage page. I also created a blacklist template with 4 apps invisible (Applist detector, GPS Setter, HMA, Magdisk Hide (settings). The template is applied to 7-11 app only.

                              I still getting A01 error.

                              • @schan11: Did your reset your device id for 7-11? And restart? Also you'll have to hide that app too

                                • @postform: This a video how I install everything in Android studio from the start. Link to the video

After the video I have installed the Device ID changer app and Changed the device id for 7-11. Also Added Device ID changer into the template in HMA.

                                  Still A01.

                                  • @schan11: To be honest the only difference between yours and mine is pixel 4 vs pixel 7. And the device id changer. Maybe @Flapjack Fire can help.

                      • @Flapjack Fire: So will they just ban any phone that uses this app? ;-)

Good work, will try this out.

                      • @Flapjack Fire: This a video how I install everything in Android studio from the start. Link to the Video

After the video I have installed the Device ID changer app and Changed the device id for 7-11. Also Added Device ID changer into the template in HMA.

I have reset my device id for 7-11 and restart the device

                        Still A01.

                        • @schan11: From HMA, I would try blocking the Applist Detector app to see if it has actually worked on 7-11.

If it has, it should only show green ticks.

                          • @Flapjack Fire: I have created a new template in HMA for Applist Detector app (with the following apps ticked in App manage page: Device ID changer,GPS Setter, HMA,7-11 app, Magdisk Hide (settings)).

This actually make the Applist Detector to give a tick to the Xposed Modules. So now everything has a tick on it in Applist Detector.

This template is exactly the same as the one applied to the 7-11 app, without 7-11 app tick in the template.

However, it still getting A01 error.

Was a app update today on IOS, went to do a test - the current - set location with VPN on, find price, turn off VPN and stop simulating location - then lock - Dreaded A01.

@superuser: My system works interstate without a VPN, but just tried it with Windscribe set to Perth and it locked fine.

    • A bit of correction.

VPN not working sure, a blanket anonymous IP blocklist/hosting provider blocklist can be in effect.

My issue with not being on the VPN and getting the error is possibly my home internet.
If you are using a 5G home broadband (because it's way cheaper than NBN) like I am, check your IP online from a few places.
I have got one reporting that I am in Melbourne (actual), one reporting that I am in Brisbane, and two reporting that I am in Sydney.

So tried to lock in VIC, A01; tried to lock in QLD, A01; tried to lock in NSW, success.
Have not tested hotspotting to see if I can lock in VIC in VIC, but others reporting successful intrastate without VPN.

      Hope this helps someone.

      • Also using Android studio it's not working anymore. I can't even log in my own state without vpn. I thought it's because I have a static IP associated with another state and I tried to share my wifi from my phone data. But for some reason it still does not work.

Anyway it's too much work and even if it did work most of the places here are 50 cents more than an independent so the 25 cent off does not help.

  • Got the same problem, interstate lock error A01. Got it working turning VPN off and locking to the cheapest option within my state. 🤷‍♂️

I gave up.. will start filling up at Costco (was 6c cheaper than the cheapest 7-11 yesterday) when I go that way or wherever the cheapest around me.
    Goodbye fellow chopper pilots :(

haha this has been pretty much me, Canberra has horrible prices but costco is always within 4-5 c of the cheapest 7/11 during the apache chopper regin, so back to costco it is…..untill a top gun can work it out :p

    • Yeah the new ownership of 7-11 are really the fun police to the chopper pilots. As 7-11 was always dearer, I never went there until I took up flying, and then stayed loyal for years. My choppers still getting locks, however the 25c cap still ruins it. Atleast we can offload those 7-11 GCs at any other more competitive servo.

Got the same A01 error. No issues with locking within home state though based on faking the location with 3U tools. BTW how the hell are they sniffing out your state if you're using a VPN server within another state that you want to lock fuel in????

    • They're not, they just detecting that you're using a public VPN service I believe.

I made it work on android by making a private VPN service using a VPS provider.

Just had success on 2 out of 2 attempts to lock in WA pricing

    1. Open GeoPort (https://geoport.me)
    2. Enable fuel mode and choose best price
    3. Set location
    4. NordVPN to state matching the fuel location
    5. Open 7-11 app and search for best fuel price
    6. Turn off NordVPN and stop location in GeoPort
    7. In 7-11 app, lock in fuel price

I’m trying to dig in to what other features they’re checking. They use certificate pinning so trying to MITM sniff the traffic isn’t working out

        Have you considered trying GeoPort?
Similar look to iFake but it's under active development and supports iOS 17+ devices
No dramas if you don't want to!

    • Can I get this to work with an Android?

      • I am only just starting to consider Android… but I think the ecosystem is too variable. So no commitment that I'll add it

      • The GPS Setter app in the Android guide accomplishes the same task as far as I'm aware. The issue with Android at the moment is the apparent geo-fencing of IP addresses, and blocking of major VPNs. It would be interesting to see if following the same set of instructions above (but substituting GeoPort for GPS Setter) would work? I don't have NordVPN, and all my VPNs are in the same state as me, so I can't test it.

    • Really appreciate this, following this to the letter worked for me, seems there somtimes is a little delay after clearing the location, so i wait a good 20 secs and then hit lock and had success.

    • Just tried this, and didn't work for me :(

    • Followed this to the letter and did not work for me, still getting error A01.

Trying to lock WA from Melb

    • Hi dave31,
Can you please let us know what device you are having success with?
I've been trying an ipad with IOS 17.4.1 with no luck at all.
Unfortunately I don't have access to an Iphone to test.
The Android Studio method has also stopped working for me.
      I can't go back to 4c off vouchers :(

        iPhone 15 with iOS. 17.4.1
On the weekend I got A01's but was determined to try out different methods.

I guess, we are in a limbo state where it does work and at the same time it doesn't work. I locked in for myself and family using the above steps… $2.05 from WA when based in another state.

It's also unfortunate that 7-11 are pricks with the 25c cap and locally most 7-11's were at $2.50+/l and I didn't get to enjoy the WA price anyway.
Basically they are being hostile (sure, everyone is gaming the system) but it's becoming more apparent that other fuel stations are probably cheaper than 7-11 these days

Which sucks, because I built GeoPort for the 7-11 fuel community but thankfully I've found new use-cases…. The PokemonGo (plus other location-based games) and the online dating (Tinder, Bumble etc) communities all using GeoPort to spoof their locations lol

Yeah too hostile man, this guy at 7-11 wanted to charge me double for a hot chocolate today for pressing the cappuccino button instead of just milk. So I said that i don't want it and you can have.

          • @Rakibul: seems fair, you made the cappuccino, you should pay for it…

        • Legend Dave for your effort. That's an awesopme contribution to the community. Look forward to trying it out.

Confirmed this just worked for me iPhone 6. ifake and ivancy

      • I am willing to invest in an iphone if it is working in general for everyone

How did you get the 7-11 app to work with an iPhone 6? I believe the latest iOS version that runs on it is iOS 12 which isn't supported by the 7-11 app anymore

    • thank you, this work for me. as always

    • Method still working for me using iAnyGo - locked in WA, located QLD
