Hi HolyCr4p this is more for HR and Staff managment, ie, if you have over 50 staff, it's really hard to monitor who is/isn't available for work (who is in quarantine etc)

This isn't a "check-in" app, it's more around a tool for recording cases in your workplace

I wish you well but i will say no to this offer as i dont own business

      • Use Calendar program of your choice (Google, Apple, Outlook etc) instead and set a reminder when staff become available.

    Sounds like an excel spreadsheet

Would be just as easy to use an excel document or a simple word document which require basic setup steps and is free. I may be able to cop the $10 a month for ease of use but the $3.99 per close contact or confirmed case is quite steep and could get very expensive very quickly…

      Charge per event… seriously?

Besides, nothing that an Excel and a Macro cannot do.

  • Where is the bargain??

  • Wouldn't you get this information via your swipe card system? (If you have one)

Hey, another person trying to profiteer from COVID.
I’ll stick to a spreadsheet which costs $0/ month, and $0 per confirmed case/ close contact.

  • Good thoughts
But doesn't seems to be a deal in OZB community
    Unless you make it FREE

To cover the running cost (eg. SMS )
you can charge that as a premium / add on for those features

Nothing about where/how OP plans to hold potentially sensitive personal information.

Plus the site looks like it was put together in an afternoon using WordPress.

    Total scam

    LOL

  • Hey guys, thanks for the feedback. I think I need to be more clear about what it actually does. It's more for businesses that require staff to upload RAT tests etc prior to attending work.

For example, if they were a listed close contact, but were an essential working, the app sends them a daily SMS with a unique form to fill in and provide RAT negative upload, and confirm business rules (specific to the business).

Anyway, appreciate the help, I will make some changes and reasses! We are using it internally, I just wanted to let others use it if they want, but text messages and automations are expensive!

If you can explain it e.g the privacy ,security, and how the data stored/kept as well. What kind information do you store ?

    • It sounds useful on a construction site, but you should be offering tiers.

    • This could potentially be useful and reasonable value for medium to large businesses, but I think you need to more clearly set out the features and inclusions, lest you be lynched by the OzB community. Also clarify the privacy/data collection/security issues, as noted by HolyCr4p.

    • Please also make sure you understand all the legalities of handling personal health records on behalf of other companies. You may end up in a pretty big mess.
Similar to driving yourself versus being for hire as a taxi. Your insurance changes, your status changes, your tax changes, your rego changes,…
If you are planning to get a couple of thousand per month, I would leave it to your company only. Not worth the risk. That is my $0.02

    Dear OP,
It is nice that you veer off the beaten track for you, I hope you found a nice hobby in programming.
And you are following the modern trends of charging a subscription, rather than a flat fee. Not that everyone would like it, but that is how it is, especially with cloud services.
However, with all due respect, after seeing your video, the software is really not worth the requested amount. Especially the per case fee is not based on any particular cost you would be incurring (the SMS cost is minimal, I think we are paying 2c per SMS).
I am not even going into the legal stuff regarding sending not only PII to a third party but also health data - that is another level up.
I am not sure if you know what obligations does your company has with regards to managing this sensitive data and what kind of cyber insurance your company has when handling this information for others. I know it can be quite expensive. (and that would be the only thing which would justify the cost, to be honest) .

    • Was about to share something similar — the feature set and the structure reads like a undergrad-level CRUD project taken just a little further, with essential flows and "happy paths" mapped out and implemented with not too much in the way of value-added feature sets (can see CSV import on your roadmap, so assume for now that larger businesses, who going by your fee, are your target businesses, have to manually input employees one at a time via a form — possibly negating any cost/time-saving benefit they might've had otherwise).

I also sympathise that there may be a finite duration to your revenue stream, given you are almost entirely dependent on the nature of RAT-testing/isolation mandates/requirements at any given time, which has probably fed into your chosen subscription rates. Alas this is the nature of the beast, that initial fees are often intended to be a bit of a loss-leader to attract subscribers before the business chooses to raise them, but you on the other hand have a pressing need to ensure you break-even on your development and service costs from the get-go and turn a profit, before the river potentially runs dry.

You are much better off cold-calling businesses and reaching out to your network to get others in on this asap, than getting it out on a public forum like OzB as this is a very particular niche that brings me back to my coding boot camp days of building an MVP and pitching it to businesses for private use, than making a profitable business of it from the get-go.

Either way kudos for the effort, and all the best
