this is a comp and not a deal

    • +3

Victoria doesn't know what Rugby is. let along state of origin lol

      • +3

State of Origin was invented by the AFL crowd. Unfortunately the concept died due to the professionalism of the game, something that doesn't concern the inferior form of rugby. 😌

        • +3

thats why AFL is not played anywhere in the world but melbourne lol.

          • +8

@kungfuman: Australia is like the spice girls everyone is on board except victoria why do you think they call their beer victoria bitter, because victoria is bitter very bitter :D

          • @kungfuman: Also the only game where you get a free kick for catching the ball on the full, and still get a point even if you miss the goal.

          • +1

@kungfuman: Cheering on a sport because it's English isn't the brag you think it is.

          • -1

@kungfuman: Rugby league is only played in the bad part of England and the part of Australia North of Wagga. It's also a national embarrassment that it takes talent away from the real rugby the world actually wants to play.

            • +1

              @JohnHowardsEyebrows:

talent away from the real rugby the world actually wants to play.

It honestly feels like Rugby Union is a dead sport. In the 90s and 00s it was relatively popular…now, I couldn't tell you the last time I heard anything about it in the media or general day to day life.

Btw, "the world" is a bit of a stretch. UK, France, South Africa and NZ isn't really the entire world.

              • +1

@PainToad: It's tragic that Australia has abandoned the sport as the rest of the world embraces it. Wallabies used to be a part of the national identity, now they struggle to make it out of the group stage.

            • @JohnHowardsEyebrows: better than trying to play baseball instead of cricket :D

            • @robothat: yep where 70% of the population lives :D on the east coast.

        • When did state of origin get canned? I hear qlders harp on about it every year

      • +1

Looks like Queenslanders don't know what League is, either.

      • +1

Yet the MCG holds the record crowd for league SOO.

League SOO was so unpopular in the 80s that they held the game in the US.

It must kill Queenslanders to watch Storm being consistently good compared to their four sides

        • +1

Went last year to the Telstra Dome match for what that's worth. Would have went again if they did a match in Melbourne (though tbh I think it's silly in Melbourne, and Perth is even sillier this year)

          • +3

@TheDukeOfNukem: It's all for cash, Vlandys would sell a game in Gaza if it paid enough

        • +1

          We all know why.

In 27 years, Victoria has hardly produced any juniors, that have played NRL. More Victorians have played NFL + College Football in the USA.

          • @BewareOfThe Dog: Thanks, I was waiting for this!

            https://www.nrl.com/news/2010/04/22/history-of-nrl-salary-cap-breaches/#:~:text=$369%2C108%20over%20the%20cap.,reclassified%20by%20salary%20cap%20auditor.&text=Undisclosed%20payment%20of%20$115%2C000.

Manly didn't cop it as harshly, even though it was more cash and for five years. There's a history of the NRL looking after the NSW clubs, yet Queensland and the Pacific islands produce the best players and have the best crowds.

That's why league will go the same way as union, too much hubris from the NSW centric administrators.

      • Asahi is Japanese btw

  • -1

That's hilarious 😂 Almost makes me wish I followed rugby.

    • +12

      rugby

"Rugby" is usually associated with Rugby Union.

State of Origin is Rugby League, or just "league".

      • -6

Victorians wouldn't know a train was up them till the people go out wouldn't waste your time explaining lol.

        • +1

          Surely you mean a tram?

      • All sportsball is sportsball to me.

    • +10

Did you see that ludicrous display last night?

      • +8

What was Wenger thinking sending Walcott on that early

        • +7

The thing about Arsenal is they always try to walk it in.

          • +2

            @AustriaBargain: Now Chelsea, that's a team I like.

            • +6

@Jimothy Wongingtons: You can stand there and slag me off all you like. But don't you start talking about how I feel about my beloved West Ham. Cos I love 'em. I love 'em gooners.

              • +3

@Lizard Spock: How dare all of you 🙄 talk about your up-market teams. Go Crystal Palace 😂

      Basically zero chance

      • Exactly, even worse now

        • +1

Maybe they need a "sorry for your loss" reward for those who miss out on the Tissues

  • +8

I think i just got harvested. I feel dirty.

  • +3

I don't even care if QLD lose this year - it's satisfying enough seeing the 4x back to back Premiership winners be on the bottom of the ladder.

    • -3

they won't they only let NSW win because they take pity on them, but remember QLD is the ultimate time we did 12 in a row, and NSW cried for so many years. so we have to let them win some years now.

      • +4

I love a good cockroach bashing - but get your numbers right dude.
        We won "8 straight" in '06 - '13.
In the 12 series between '06 - '17 we won 11 of them.

        • It just felt like 12years down Mexico way.
          Underlay Underlay Mareba

  • Funnier it's Victoria Bitter offering this.

    • +4

Indeed, ironic that Melbourne's iconic bogan beer is more popular in the northern states…

      • +4

Could be because the bogans are moving…..

      • Fosters used to sponsor AFL

      • It's cheaper up there than in Melbourne. Tooheys and Hahn used to be dirt cheap here

      • Most Melbournians drink Naarm bitter, all made at CUB tho.
Yatala produces a lot of VB and Great Northern

  • At least the other states and territories' players would not get lots of concussion-contusions.

  • +2

They should do this for Carlton supporters

  • +4

The Victorians are making fun of us!

    • …….while drinking VB and wishing that AFL should have state of origin as well.

  • +1

Are these sad tissues or happy tissues?

    • +1

      😏

    • +1

Now that is an interesting question…

    • Depends on the use case..

    • sad tissues I'm guessing.

I just got an ad having a go at you as if planning to commit sudoku. "help your family pay for your funeral!" what? how did you know I'm having a funeral? why would the ad have you consider this. I swear they are getting edgier and edgier with ads these days, the more outrageous the more clicks and views I'm guessing. another one was the chad meme mspaint picture jewelery store ad.

        • So did you report it to the mods?

          • @sween64: It won't let me.

I think I accidentally reported it as a duplicate and for some reason OzBargain doesn't allow a user to report a deal again.

You have already reported this item before as Duplicate

            • @HomeAlone: Yeah, it’s a bit of a limitation of the report function but I guess it prevents spamming.

  • +4

This a comp. Plus low redemption numbers.

    • Sooo… report it?

  • Deal is snot good

  • Will this fit my rear parcel shelf?

  • You mean Asahi…

They better not let me down.

  • +3

    shit promo

  • +2
