AMD Ryzen 5 5600G CPU $339, 5 5600X $399 and More + Delivery @ PLE Computers

590

PLE is selling AMD 5000 series CPU with some discount.
Not the lowest though.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600G $339
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X $399
AMD Ryzen 7 5700G $479
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X $549
.
.
… More

I find Ryzen 5s to be a good deal not so much for the 7 and 9 since other retailers have them for cheaper.

Was gonna jump on 5600G or 5600X to commit building a PC, but held my wallet too tight. The overall cost of building one right now was too much for my enthusiasm!

Edit: Users pointed out that there is a delivery fee

I would buy from PLE over JW anyday. With PLE you will actually get the product you order on time. Where as JW will process your payment, you will wait for weeks without any response from them, eventually they will tell you that they can't obtain the product for you.

    5950x cheaper than 3950x lol

    • -6

This happens all the time with older soon to be discontinued products, nothing novel or funny about it.

$400 for a 5600x doesn't seem that amazing with the slightly faster 12400f available for $299, even accounting for the more expensive motherboards.

Although looking now AMD B550 boards are a bit cheaper than I thought…

    • +7

You can get a b550 for under $80. Cheapest LGA1700 must be around $200?

      • +2

True, although those look pretty low-end. As a very broad way of assessing features, the cheapest b550 with 4 dimm slots is about $100 on PCPP.

Cheapest LGA1700 must be around $200?

H610 seems to start at $150, although they also might be a bit light on features. Cheapest B660 I could see was $210 delivered.

Still you're right, it ends up being a similar price and it could be a tossup depending on mobo options/features

    • slightly slower*

prob comes down to preference considering the more expensive motherboards and more cooling

    • +2

This is expensive considering I got a 5600x + MSI B550 Tomahawk for $460 last year.

      • That was the other thing I was thinking — from memory 5600x historical low was ~$330 under the klarna deal, but I feel like it's been $360-370 several times. And hardware is only moving on…

        • I got my 5600x for $339 many months ago now.

      • What graphics card are you going to pair that too?! Suddenly not so cheap.
        Double or quadruple that price.

        • I got 3080 Ti

  • +3

    Delivery fee kills this deal

  • +3

Are these really deals? They seem pretty close to normal price.

  • +1

5600g is normally $359 delivered which is cheaper than this deal

  • +2

Doesn’t look like an amazing deal to me. The 5600G isn’t amazing for gamers and really only justifiable if you have a use for its integrated Vega GPU.

The 5600X is a fine CPU, but the cheaper 12400F is on par or faster. And the slightly pricier 12600KF is a lot faster than the ageing 5600X.

As I understand, more LGA1700 chipsets are incoming shortly, which should result in cheaper motherboards also.

    • +4

The 5600G is perfectly capable of running many of the popular games and esport titles without plonking down the $$$ for a GPU. And has no real competition from the Intel side.

      • waiting for a rdna 2 apu~

considering i can sell my existing r5 3600 for around $250 and i already have a good b550 mobo, wondering if this is worth it… i know i wont see major uplift at 1440p but it will help in some CPU intensive games. thoughts? what would you do if you were me?

    • Will stick to 3600.
Can't say I am an expert since I play in 1440p too but using a laptop.
Since a lot of users pointed out, you can probably get a 5000 series for cheaper.

    • Yes you should upgrade especially if you have the B550 already but not at these prices.

      • ah yes, i definitely plan to make the purchase at some point, i just need to figure out what my threshold is. i think if it goes down to $370 again i will feel ok about that.

    • also at 1440p and considering upgrading for games like apex, valorant, tarkov etc.

      • Would help push fps, but chances are you get plenty already?

  • I would wait a few months longer for some announcements of the next-gen from AMD and Intel. The 5600G is a good processor and I did a build with it and B550 MB a few months ago. I think once I start seeing numbers in the mid-200s that would be a good time to get one.

I am looking to get another 5600G once prices drop as I can then transfer my current 3200G to a A320 system I have sitting idle.

    • This recent build you did with the B550 motherboard - was it a Mini-ITX build? Please let me know which mobo you used for the 5600G, thanks

      • +1

It was a MATX build: ASUS TUF Gaming-II B450 Plus II (sorry not B550 but B450, my NVME drive was Gen.3 and I didn't need the Gen4 functionality). I also have a X570 running a 3200G so might switch the two processors around (no urgency at this point). Once the 5900X falls a few hundred more (maybe the 450 or less range) and GPUs also start showing up at some reasonable price (i.e. RX 6500 XT at $200) then I will do a bit of processor moves to different boxes.

        Current builds:
        5600G on B450 MB - ASUS TUF Gaming-II B450 Plus II
        3200G on X570 MB - Asrock X570 Gaming 4 WIFI AX
No CPU on A320 MB - Biostar A320MH (a very cheap PC build I had for 2 years running non-gaming tasks).

        Future builds:
Buy 5900X and install on X570 MB
        Move 5600G to B450 MB
Move 3200G to A320 MB (one I have without a CPU at this point).

If I were to do a M-ITX build I like the ASUS STRIX B450-I Gaming. On these G processors I'd put money into fast RAM (3200 or 3600 MHZ), recently some great deals on Ozbargain for those. 32GB should do.

        • Yeah I agree if doing a apu build go the fast ram. At current gpu prices a 5600g makes a lot of sense

        • Ah thanks mate, I really appreciate your comprehensive answer. The reason I ask is because I'm a noob and want to do a build with a NP200R case (Mini-ITX) but not sure what is the best mobo to use with a 5600G CPU. If you can be bothered, please check my list and let me know what you would choose to improve it. I just want to run MS Office and do video editing (no gaming):

Happy to Paypal you something for any assistance

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: No worries on the Paypal. I'm fine without getting that.

If you're not hung up on mini-ITX would you consider a standard MATX build instead (you'd need to update the case and mobo to mATX ones) reason being that you'd get a bit more space for drives and more choices of cases. 3TB is fine to start video editing but if you need more space consider a 6 or 8 TB drive instead as that is price per TB better I think these days. If you do intend to add a GPU in the future I would up the PSU to 650 or 750 (Bronze or Silver is fine).

One thing on MOBO, always get one with BIOS flashback (ROG Strix is fine, as are many others) - the reason I have a 3200G is that the BIOS on the X570 Mobo (Asrock) didn't support BIOS flashback so I could only get the 3000 series instead of 5000 series. Now I have updated that BIOS to the latest so can go 5000 series in the future.

Try gaming anyway with the APUs, if it's 1080p and medium settings I think many games would be playable.

            • @amaslam: Thank you mate, that's very helpful

        • Thanks again mate. So do you think the ASUS STRIX B450-I Gaming is better than than using a B550 or X570 motherboard? I found this which applies to Mini-ITX (I prefer a small PC build): When picking the best Ryzen 5 5600G motherboard, you have two main options. You can either go with the X570 chipset or the B550 chipset. The X570 is the top-of-the-line variant that comes with PCIe Gen4 chipset uplink and general-purpose lanes. The B550 motherboard is more consumer-oriented and supposedly budget-friendly. Both chipsets feature PCIe Gen4 for the graphics card and storage. Both chipsets also feature USB 3.1 Gen2, support overclocking, and dual graphics cards. Talking about the general design, the X570 motherboards come with a chipset fan while the B550 motherboards do not.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: I'd go x570 as in the future you upgrade CPU, ram and GPU.and use gen 4.

One future upgrade path say in a year could be 5950x CPU, a GPU and a gen4 nvme drive. Start out use it for a while and then see if anything feels slow that would benefit with upgrades.
