$1,300 for a laptop with 8GB RAM. What's good about it?

It's an Asus. Which means a shit screen. 250 nits and 45% gamut. This thing should be no more than RRP $1200 and $800 on sale

      Any alternative? I need a 2 in 1 laptop asap :(

      • Me too. They seem $$$.

    • Been happy with my Asus I got on the last deal (No touch screen though but I don't need that): https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/670556

      • That unit included the OLED Display 1920x1080 (no troubles for a 13" monitor), 550nits 1.07 billion colours, I would recommend that monitor seems good but agree do keep an eye out on the pannel tech as many notebooks do have lower end screens but disagree Asus units means crap screens…
      • They have some good screens but they really like to use their 250 nits / 45% gamut screen. North of $1200 frankly i really dont think it's ok, especially because they hide it's true specs so i find it rather duplicitous.

Unfortunately touchscreen is a requirement for my partner.

  • I have this laptop for around 1yr. The screen is fine indoors and even OK outdoors. The processor is great, the only let down is 8gb RAM. In reality I use it constantly to do basic CAD design work, some graphics editing and creation, a lot of office stuff and multi monitor video outputs. It works perfectly for this.

    • Does it have a spare ram slot? Also looks like this laptop has the USB C plug that can charge etc?

      • Spare RAM slot unfortunately not from what I can tell. USB-C I think can be used as charge but I don't know the specs. When I connect my Pixel Charger it just says charging slowly use the charger that came with your device.

  • Mine came today. It does have thunderbolt 4 plug so I guess that's a plus.

    • Did it come with a pen / stylus?

      • Yes
