Red Lobster would be a different story.

  • +3

    What's the normal price?

  • Thank you REP for this genuine bargain

  • +1

    New burger? Maybe? Bargain? No.

  • +1

    This is just advertising.

    • well it is, but it's advertising a bargain, nothing wrong with that.
as for those comparing it to the macca's chicken & cheese…..that's not really a comparison, as it's just that. you can have this one with BACON!

Oh Steph, you had me at Bacon

      • +3

You CAN have it with Bacon. But you pay more for that.

      • You can have any Maccas burger with bacon, including the $2 ones. Just pay for it.

I saw the add on tv 3 times yesterday, do you think it needs to be promoted on OB too?
As your a Rep add a voucher otherwise this is just Spam.

  • +1

    The normal price is $4.95

    • +5

You have to offer a bigger discount if you don't want to get negged here.

      • +4

20% seems like a decent discount imho

      • I think it's just, you need to announce the saving up front

        • +1

"Save $1 at Red Rooster" wouldn't do much better trust me.

  • Thanks, meh!

  • -7

A whole dollar off Steph !

  • -4

So you are saying I will get a FULL $1 back if I hand them $5. That is an amazing bargain.

    • +1

If you hand then $5, you'll actually get a full $1.05 back ;)

  • +3

    20% off isnt too bad

  • +7

Actually seems like a reasonable deal, it is 20% off for a limited time. McDonald's value menu/dollar menu would probably show up here more often if they were allowed on OzB.

  • +13

Percentage wise its not bad… the problem is that my new lunch budget is $2

    • +6

For $5.30 I can get a 3 course meal at McDonalds.

      Entree: Garden salad - $2
Main: Burger and fries - $3
      Dessert: Ice Cream - 30c

      :)

Edit: and for a drink, water with ice is free.

      • +1

        happy our deals: 12-2pm

$3.95 cheesburger + medium fries + medium coke

      • i rather have a stunner meal at hungry jack for 35c less
or if you bugget is $2 try the groupon $2 voucher deal.
You get a burger and small chip for $2 at hungry jack

  • +2

My lunch is like 50c, I buy from the asian mart 'Korean Clay Pot Ramyun' NONGSHIM noodles. At lunch I goto the student's association office and use their kettle.

Same result, It is quick, tastes alright is bad for you but much cheaper.

But no, for a fastfood burger, $5 normal price is too expensive anyway.

    • +1

wow your arteries must be clogged with salt

      • +1

you can save more buying indomie mie goreng, i think each is just around 25-30cents, less if you buy a box of 40pcs. hint: get from asian groceries not coles/wollies

  • Now I know what a TRUE ozbargainer is…50c~$3.95 for lunch still want to save 35c more for the best deal…

Ok…I think I am just a ozbargain reader, the very basic one….hands down. Orz

biggest scam out…. hungry jacks gives me a whooper, small fries and $2 bucks change.

    Get out of here.

    • is that a new type of kick ass burger? :)

  • the differences between bargain hunter and tight wad.

  • +1

for $4 i can have a double cheese and chicken cheese burger each at mcd… so not a bargain

  • +2

Not a bargain when compared to HJ's $2 promo via Scoopon or Macca's $2 burgers (double cheese burger or chicken & cheese burger)

  • +1

I'd take a red rooster burger over the crap at HJs or Maccas anyday.

    • +5

Pot calling the kettle black? fast food is fast food champ. I wouldn't eat any of it. That being said HJ's is definitely offering a better deal and maccas $2 burgers definitely trump this

  • +3

Was thinking $3.95 is pretty OK for burger with cheese or bacon etc, but then re-read the description … a bit deceptive, given its only the basic lettuce / mayo / chicken 'classic' burger for $3.95.

Was going to say $4 for a chicken burger with a proper chicken breast fillet isn't too bad, but $2 Maccas is much better considering you don't have to wait 15 minutes for it to be cooked (my usual experience with the local Red Roosters … tastes good, but Christmas comes faster sometimes :/)

Negative for the deceptive listing - nice burger picture, opening line of bacon / cheese etc, but actual 'bargain' is the basic boring burger.

  • +5

If this was 20% off the latest box set of Firefly or a steam download of Portal it'd have 30+ by now probably…

Welcome to ozbargain, where we only like discounts on the things we like :)

Just went down and bought 12.
