      Actual? Proof?

          Lol opinion or misinformation?
          Haven't these always been 200g?

@squanchy: Misinformation.. is this post about vaccines or a nut bar lol

            • +1

@Foodstamps: An opinion is on something subjective such as flavour, which is perfectly valid. Misinformation is stating something as a fact, which is just wrong, sometimes due to stupidity, sometimes due to pushing some agenda. You're right that misinformation seems most prevalent recently around vaccines but it's not a new concept and can apply to anything and should be called out.

@thestig: nut bars… relax. If that doesn't work try seeing a doctor for a formal diagnosis. People can have an opinion and put it on a thread 🐱

                • @Foodstamps: Incorrect

                • @Foodstamps: Not sure who is not relaxed here, posted that comment while sipping on a glass of Laga 16….anyhow back to the point (which has nothing to do with nut bars in case you've missed that…)

I agree that people can post what they like on a thread, but the beauty of the Ozbargain community is that people can question claims made, and these discussions result in valuable information being posted here and incorrect information being called out.

Seems like it's the last (& arguably most important part of this site) that you've taken exception to by telling people to "Get an actual life" for daring to ask someone to substantiate a claim that is blatantly wrong.

And come on, suggesting I see a doctor because you disagree with my comment? Surely even you are better than this…stick to playing the ball, not the man.

Turns out they've not downsized - just tiny since inception.

        https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7421249/Picture-sho…

Uncle Tobys muesli bars have absolutely downsized to comical proportions though.

Fair enough. Years ago I boycotted Cadbury Caramellos as they dropped from 20g to 15g and remained the same price. They all do it.

  • +6

I bet you like nut butter

Eat meat for protein and eggs and then supplement with these and protein powder and milk and eat packets of salad instead of potato chips

  • +5

10g of protein…don't waste my time. 2 boiled eggs has more and it's a lot cheaper

    • +31

Mmm especially after after being carried around in the bottom of a bag all day.

      • Why would you want till the end of the day to eat the eggs.
Do you not have a fridge at your work?

    • +3

      Agreed.

Protein bars are not a cost effective source of protein when there are eggs, tuna and protein powder (nor high protein to carb/calorie ratio). If people really need protein bars as on-the-go snacks, I suggest Quest protein bars (not cheap in comparison).

      • any recommendations for protein powder?

        • Gold standard is good balance between price and flavour

      • +7

Carmans are snack bars. Could do worse as far as snacks go but yeah not a cost effective source of protein. Most cost effective protein bars are the Musashi ones with 40-45g of protein at half price for $2.50 which happens a few times a year, usually at Chemist Warehouse
HPLC bars have similar protein content but taste worse and don't go on sale as often.

        • Oh nice, thanks for sharing. Gonna look out for those.

10g of protein…don't waste my time. 2 boiled eggs has more and it's a lot cheaper

Yeah but a good substitute for a traditional muesli or chocolate bar, especially with a coffee at morning tea, as opposed to boiled eggs.

    • +4

How cheap are you getting your eggs, arn't 12 large eggs usually about $4? That would make it 66c for 2 squished eggs at the bottom of my bag, or I can have one of these that's been squished in the bottom of my bag for months for 57c

    • And doesn’t have 15+ grams of sugar in every 100g.

  • +3

Do any of these not have peanuts?

  • +2

    Minimum quantity 3
    Always a kicker

    • A kicker in the nuts

      • Kicker in the nuts? I just met 'er!

      • Deez Nutz

  • Thanks, ordered caramel nut butter free with credits

  • +1

    Love these, absolutely delicious

  • These are fantastic, I have them for smoko every day. I rotate between choc mint, nut butter and cookies & cream.

  • Max qty was only 3 on the choc berry. Wouldn't let me order anymore.

  • Got 3 today at Woolies.

  • What's the benefit of these ?

    • +1

Good for eating usually, you can also use it as a paperweight.
