    Network Network Network…..

Optus did use "YES" 😉 in adverts.

Heaps of room left in the title to write Telstra, Optus, or Vodafone.

If struggling for space one letter will suffice, ie. T/O/V

        Cheers

      • +1

Do you work for Optus that's why you refuse to state the network?

      • @Wardaddy going gangster mode on @8200 arse, old school!

    • If Wifi calling is available, I don’t care their floptus network.

  • +6

    What network is this on?

      LOL!

      O

    • Floptus

  • Which network does Coles Mobile utilise?

  • +1

I'd recommend the Boost 365 day Sims $200 for around $150 or Les typically

    • +3

I'd also recommend WoolworthsMobile (Telstra), $150 for 100GB for 365days (less when on special) - but combined with 10% off grocieries once a month, the effective cost of WW is closer to zero.

      • +1

That's not bad. I don't really do one big shop a month or week, just grab stuff when needed more often

      • Woolworths mobile doesn't support Wi-Fi calling

        Boost does!

        • depends what you are after - price or features.

        • +1

          what is wifi calling ??

          • -2

@Harsh Deep: WhatsApp, Viber etc? NFI

            • +1

@8200: i don't think so, thats app , its something else i reckon, if there is no reception or bad, then calls use existing wifi connection on your phone for phone calls. i could be wrong though.

              • @Harsh Deep: So I got boost for exactly this reason cos I live in a a concrete box with awful mobile reception inside. Despite Wi-Fi calling working, I still get crap reception inside, so I'll be going for a cheaper option (will look at this ww mobile option).

          • +1

@Harsh Deep: Ability to route outgoing and incoming standard phone calls and SMS to you via your wifi when you have no phone reception but wifi present, without any intervention from you.

      • I'm on Woolies mobile. One massive gripe… It won't do video MMS. It's an add-on you pay extra for.

And for some reason, .webp format files won't send over MMS either.

Doesn't really matter because of all these instant messaging apps, but I have friends on iPhone that ONLY use the default messaging app.

        • Time to upgrade to iPhone.

          • @ca6leguy: Would love to. But I don't want to spend a grand for a phone. If they made a $400 phone, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

            • @BadGiraffe: Yeah stuff paying $1500-2k for a phone.
There are enough messaging apps that do do voice and video calls, surely most people use them.

Anyway shouldn't have those issues on boost mobile I believe.

    • Boost is the best!

      • Yes Boost does appear to be the Ozbargainer's favourite plan.
My whole family is on Boost 365 day plans.

    • +2

The thing I dislike most about Boost is that they don't give a F about existing customers wanting to stay on their network and charging them pretty much full price instead of being competitive against the other options. Unless you want to spend the time to port out and port in again (minimum of two days turn around without a real plan), then it's pretty pathetic.
They used to send discounts to users via SMS about a month before they are about to expire to keep them in their system. But $200 for 100GB is an absolute joke to remain on their network as such.

      • I've found the online chat assistance good, waited till my first 356 day sim was pretty much done and they activated the new one, ported number to it.. done. Didn't have to eff around with another network sim card.

The $200 and $300 are pretty good value and on wifi at home, last time didn't even end up uisnt much data so got the $200 this time. Last time had bonus data as well.

        • I just wish that they can just do the same specials as they would for new customers for existing without going through customer service blah blah blah. I have to do like 4 accounts for the family and it's just stupid having to jump through hoops and hurdles to get essentially the same discount as a new service would.

          • @bchliu: Agree would be nice of them to provide something like that, but to be honest it's a budget prepaid plan.
Can go to one of the networks and pay more for post paid and still get dud service/treatment

Not much of an issue once a year for those 365 sims really.

      they don't have international calling

    • Thanks - I've gone Catch as I just need it for an iPad.

  • My Coles prepaid is ending soon and I can't wait.

  • FYI Coles Mobile still doesn't support VOLTE.

  • +1

Please note, there is no international roaming (No incoming/outgoing calls or SMS). There is no way to enable it as an add-on aswell. If you have plans for international travel, I wouldn't recommend this.

    • That's good info mate. I am on coles prepaid which is due for renewal next month. This time I am looking for international roaming too. Which network and plan do you recommend on similar price tag.

      • Sorry mate, couldn't find anything close to this.
Recently I have to travel and had tough time with OTPs without international roaming. So thought of highlighting it.

      • +1

        https://mobile.woolworths.com.au/international-roaming

Check out woolworths mobile for roaming needs

"All Woolworths Mobile Phone Plan & SIM Only customers can receive SMS when overseas without adding a Roaming add-on, when travelling in one of the Eligible Countries"

        • Good find! :)
Note that International Roaming is offered only on their SIM ONLY PLAN: $25/35/45 per month
Their LONG EXPIRY PLAN $150/200 per year does not have International Roaming -> similar to Boost

  • Have 2 active services about 6 months in that ported in minutes from the same previous provider (boost) Bought another for an elderly family member, for some reason, they tell me porting is delayed. Been about 24 hours… No change. They tell me it will be escalated to tech support if not done by this afternoon. They say up to 2 days on their website but usually much quicker…Common story you hear from other Coles Mobile customers on various forums…

I cant see this ending well… Be warned is all…

  • Anyone knows if you port out to Telstra $2 sim and port straight back in would you qualify as a new user?

  • Does this being on the optus network give you access to optus sports?
