~$8.50 shipping to Melb basically kills the deal unless you're bundling with something else.

Not as good as free from this expired deal. I got one for me and one for my wife. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/674922

Downvotes because you missed out on the free products?

Once you get Amazon Prime and Ebay Plus, paying for shipping just feels wrong.

  • Check that the capacity is reported correctly i.e. are they "adjusted" smaller capacity SDs.
Quite common in past, probably not so much now since they have become so much cheaper.

    • I'd be more concerned about the slow write speeds. Would be nice if there was a deal on the extreme version.

      • any idea if this is good enough for dashcam use???

  • How does the router compare to the xiaomi aiot one for $55?

    • my first time hearing this brand. googling shows this is a sub brand/lineup of TP-Link?

TL;DR, In terms of spec, XiaoMi all the way.

Xiaomi using 6th gen WiFi AX technology (5Ghz channel aka faster channel have 1200Mbps), Mercusys using 5th Gen WiFi AC Technology(1300mbps on 5Ghz)

6th Gen WiFi AX have better simultaneous wireless packet distributing technology, also although it seems Mercusys is slightly faster, but the 1300Mbps is achieved by using 3 transmit 3 receive (3T3R), where most phone/computer have 2T2R WiFi Receivers with either 5th/6th gen WiFi, meaning the actual speed will be: 867Mbps, unless both router/receiver are 6th WiFi then 1200Mbps.

And Mercusys appears to have 100Mbps Ethernet port (4 copper wires) according to their photos despite their Spec saying it's Gigabit Ethernet, if it's 100Mbps, then say bye to NAS or home networking, don't even bother transfer anything over Ethernet as it is capped at at most 12MB/s.

There isn't any teardown of Mercusys and they kept silent about what SoC/RAM they've used, but it's unlikely anywhere near 256MB RAM as that XiaoMi one.

I don't trust any online retailers selling SD cards - had too many fakes

  • $8.50 + $11.45 (standard shipping to nsw) = not a deal

Cheaper from amazon if you have prime link
