I recently bought this from Amazon and paid a lot more, seems like the price has dropped.

After shopping around for ages, I think this is a really good price for a great card.

They have recently stopped making these cards but the performance improvements are only marginal for the newer card that costs $100 more.

The Sapphire Radeon are (in my opinion) the best of the overclocked cards.

Anyway, hope someone can make use of this one, I wish it was this price when I bought it, they are an awesome card. The powercolour ones can be found cheaper if you can still find one, but again, in my opinion this is the best of the Radeon 6870 cards

Some diff brands so is there much difference? Also what's the amazon postage and wait time?

    • Sapphire is a more reputable name than Powercolor - cheapest you can get a Sapphire one for is $185. Still, I'd probably buy the cheaper one.

      • They're both reference designs, so the only difference really is the brand name. Both are low end brands and they do come out with a couple of gems every now and then. Warranty and such will be similar as well here in australia as neither have bases here and would be handled by the distributors.

The cheapest on Staticice is out of stock for ages… I called the first four on staticice to try and find them.

You can get others for cheaper, but not the Sapphire

    • Rehab what is the rate of postage to australia?

      • I paid $11.49 AUD for postage, arrived in 6 working days

  • i got the powercolor 6870 2days ago for $139 + $9 delivery from Mwave

    • Great Price! Have you installed it yet? How does it compare? I have been running an old Radeon and the speed (coupled with an SSD for boot speed) is incredible

  • are you comparing the 6870 to the 7870? cause i heard the performance difference is quite significant

  • Probably going to make do with my 5850 and wait for the 7 series to drop in price, hopefully when the 8 series eventually arrives (when ever that may be)

  • This is probably driver problem? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kBTcwrOs0E

  • A word of caution. Sapphire's fans frequently fail and when they do, you will have a hard time finding a suitable replacement. They use 3 screws set in a triangular pattern, so normal case fans (4 screws in a square) will not fit.

  • I have both CAD and video editing applications and therefore was forced to purchase from a select few approved models. I investigated Nvidia Quadro, ATI FirePro and GL cards. I didn't want to spend more than $2-300 and came up with this deal: NVIDIA Quadro 600 by HP for $174 delivered (lowest on staticice was around $215 plus $15 delivery)) see link: http://www.ozgameshop.com/graphics-video-and-tv-cards/hp-nvidia-quadro-600-1-0gb-graphics-card-ws093aa-527212?utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=google+shopping+data+feed+(21/04/2012)
