    • Same, not sure how to get rid of them as I already had enough. Store said to either throw them in the redcycle bin or give them to charity (not sure they take bags?)

  • +1

Replacement bags are free anyway, surely by now people have a huge stash of woolies bags anyway

  • Cool, I guess I'm throwing these out instead of the thick plastic bags.

    • +1

      Why?

      • Because I don't want to keep them.

        • +3

Why don't you reuse them like they are designed for?
Or if that's too hard then Redcycle them.

    • +1

As rubbish bag? These does not hold water/wet stuff

      • Nah, I put these inside rubbish bags.

  • People pay for shopping bags?
Bought 5 x 15c plastic bags @BigW yesterday. Didn't want them. (Will give away.)

Only bought bags as was cheapest & quickest purchase to qualify for 4900 bonus Rewards points (worth $24.50cr) on 5 Targeted accounts in Rewards top up point Deal ending today.

Still have plenty of these sturdier bags from free promo. Just return & replace free if needed.

    • Yeah it works when you're organised lol
I keep shopping at Woolies when I didn't plan too, hence keep buying more. At least those are more versatile than the thick plastic one

        Leave bags in your car?

  • I posted this deal some time ago and it got removed for being duplicate :/

Do you have to wait for a certain time period or something?

    • Not a dupe if 6 months since last posted, or… enough upvotes to stop being unpublished.

  • Seriously the life hack is have a trolley key on your key chain . If you don't do this you have to carry around gold coins .
Trolley for bigger purchases or the convenience of paying the pennies for some bags . You can always shove in smaller/medium orders if your a TA .
Every time I shop I'm not sure if I'm going to purchase anything and no way I'm carrying bags everywhere .

    • Do you bring the trolley back home too? Not sure it's more convenient than a bag lol

      • No coin in it dump at a safe place near your car .

    • +1

Where do you live that they need to chain all the trolleys up? I haven't seen that in years and I've visited a few questionable places.

      • You have never shop at ALDI?

        • +2

…but this post is about Woolworths, not Aldi

      • In Canberra, all the major shopping retailers use the trolley chain sadly
You would need to ask for the token at the counter to keep if you’re new to CBR

        • Ah … ACT! That is probably a good idea for other states to consider as well. Would stop a lot of trolleys from being dumped/abandoned/taken home.

      • SA have a number of independent supermarkets, ALDI and even Costco that use the coin-trolley chain. Just need to buy a $1 token from either store and can use that in any of the trolleys.

    • Seriously the life hack is have a trolley key on your key chain .

But then I need to carry that all the time, even when I am not shopping

If you don't do this you have to carry around gold coins .

It's easy to leave one in the car and then take it with me when I need a trolley

  • This deal has been going on for at least a month now for me in coastal Victoria :)

2 bucks gets you 10 reusable bags… you would be stupid not to get a few dollars worth

  • noticed it today, I was like "wow, 0.20 is really cheap", didn't realise I was actually OzBargaining

  • F&&K I hate these bags. Straight in the bin if they ever end up in my home. Couldn't pay me to take them.

Don't hold much, too much effort to fold them nicely and terrible to carry when you have a stack of bags in each hand.

In Europe they have these bags, probably about 1/3 of the size of the IKEA ones, or maybe 30% bigger then the WW plastic ones, but made of a woven plastic. They usually have something fun on them, animals, fruit, nice patterns etc. I think Coles had something similar, but they were about half the size, a bit too small.

    • You mean like the Aldi ones? They are 99c…bought one today. A bit bugger than the Woolies/Coles bags and some kind of recycled plastic - pretty sturdy but no nice patterns - just Aldi branding. I also keep an IKEA bag in my car for larger items - have had that over 10 years!

      • +1

Nope, not like the ALDI one.

Here is an example what they use in Europe, so much more fun than the boring bags we have here.

        • Depends on where in Europe I guess… the ALDI ones are made in Germany and used by Aldi, Lidl, Marks & Spencer etc. https://www.papier-mettler.com/en_sustainability_sustainable…

I have several from trips to the UK/Austria. Very similar design/size but without the pretty designs and the other look like they are more of a woven plastic.

I prefer them to the woolies/coles ones - especialy the new ones, which seem to be made from thicker more durable plastic than the older Aldi bags. Was very pleased when they started using these in Australia.

        • So in Portugal.

  • You will have it for life if you bought one. broken can be exchange for a new one.

  • Anyone else finding these things just aren't lasting like they used to?

  • I bought about 30 of these as they're good for so many different things.

They all have lifetime replacement too if they break. I just 1 for 1 swap them out if a handle breaks or the plastic at the bottom splits.

Whenever a store runs out of 15c plastic bags, the price of the green bags drop to 20c.
With supply chain issues wreaking havoc, quite a few stores should have these at said price.
The store I work in has had green bags for 20c for a couple weeks. I assume a few stores around WA especially would be experiencing the same

  • Bought a few when they were 15c

  • I received these in a Woolies delivery the other week (about 8-10 bags total). Thought it was going to be the regular but this week went back to the normal plastic bags so must have just been out of stock at the time but did see the discounted price in store last week. I usually request the paper bags if getting delivery; they might be slightly more expensive but they last and are just as good as bin liners! Plus being paper they don't result in rubbish rotting quicker (allows air to circulate) and stinking out the garbage bin outside.

  • They delivered today with 9 free Woolworths bag lol

  • Got charged $0.99 at Melbourne QV store, same for the guy in front of me. They're saying they don't offer plastic bags any more, so I don't think the scenario of "Whenever a store runs out of 15c plastic bags, the price of the green bags drop to 20c." is applicable anymore.

  • they charging 99cents for these now… no plastic 20cents bags anymore. So I now buying extra garbage bags and also have a collection of these things. Should be able to just bring them back and get "bag credit"
