20% off Spirit of the Horse Outback Spectacular.

Even if you only paid 20% for the tickets that would be 100% too much!!!

Outback 'spectacular' is quite possibly one of the worst events I've been to in my life. It would have to be the most idiotic, contrived & utterly trite representations of Aussie bush life I've ever had the misfortune to witness. Even the most in-bred redneck hillbilly from the backwoods of Alabama or Louisiana would have thought Aussies were total hicks after watching that. It was shameful!

The horsemanship was decent, but even that couldn't save the rest of the debacle. Save the money on that play folks, there's better, cheaper displays of real horsemanship around without the corny, pseudo-American cowboy hammed-up acting & awful put-on Aussie drawl. The food was terrible & they also demand that you're there an hour before the show so they can lock you into a big, hot shed & force you to buy overpriced drinks, listen to some dreadful singer on the back of a ute, and give you the hard-sell on trinkets, photos & crap in general. Here endeth the warning! ;)

50% off the other theme parks is great though! :)

If only I'd known… Went to this last night. I tried to clap and wave my hat around, you know, for the kids, and to appear somewhat patriotic, but geez it was an effort! StewBalls has nailed it in this review. I will say though, the staff were very nice.

I tried to clap and wave my hat around, you know, for the kids, and to appear somewhat patriotic, but geez it was an effort!

For that effort, I truly applaud you…we both know just how much world class (and I mean Arec Barrwin level) acting would have gone into that! You should be nominated for an Oscar, Tony or Golden Globe award…or at the very least a Gold Logie! :)

LOL, I tip my Outback Spectacular hat to you!

Does this mean you have to use the tickets before 30 June 2012 or just purchase them?

I have a trip planned for early August and was wondering if it would be valid if i bought them now.

    • +1

The tickets will only work until 30th June. So no, you won't be able to use them in August.

      • they expire by 30 June, so don't buy it. Wait for the new VIP cycle (should start from 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2013) and get that one instead. Yes it will be full priced ($80 for locals, $100 for non locals) but at least you get to use it again over summer :)

Note though there is no guarantee that there will be a VIP pass for 2012/13, but this is extremely unlikely given the dramatic fall in the number of tourists in GC.

        • Can you point out where it says it'll expire on the 30th of June? The terms and conditions say…

"General Admission, Super Pass, Fun Pass and Escape Pass tickets purchased online must be used within twelve (12) months from the date of purchase. No extensions to validity periods are available."

Edit: I can see the VIP passes do, but for us visitors who are coming over that way General Admission is all I need, would be great to save 50%!

        • So does the General Admission ticket expire on the 30th of June? I'm confused. I'm just going as a one off thing.

  • Full price for a local VIP pass is $70.

$40 for less than two months is a no deal for me… I'll wait for the next round in July 2012.

That said if you're going to visit GC anyway it's a good deal!

  • so you will get e-tickets (in email) after purchasing?

why the menu has gone blank when i enter the code?

    • Same. doesn't work, can't buy deal.

    • +3

Initially I got a blank menu after I enter the code but I figured out how it works.
      - Click on "Buy Tickets"
      - Go directly to the promo box and enter the code WIN12 and submit. DO NOT click on anything on the shopping menu.
      - All discounted price will show up in the menu. Just scroll and find the one you after

If you click on any other buttons on the top your code will stop working. In that case just refresh the page.

  • Only problem with these deals is they tend to be understaffed and doing ride maintenance at this time of the year. Wet n wild is the worst for this.

    • +1

Wet n Wild is best time of year as less visitors so less queues

      • Also freezing. I went last week.

        • +1

Freezing? It's SEQ, nothing freezes here.
Agreed there are less people but less rides and less staff are also quite common.

          Well then uncomfortably cold.

  • Anyone know when this promo ends?

    • I found out about this promo through the local primary school. We have printed vouchers which read "Valid redemption between 16 April to 30 June 2012 only". So I assume when you buy your tickets they are only valid during that period. If in doubt the MyFun help line is usually pretty good.

      Hope that helps.

      • Thanks for the reply, however I was the 50% runs out :) I will be buying mine next Monday. Some good savings.

  • Pretty good deal for us as we are only going the once in June, but just be aware that we only needed 1 child ticket which at half price was $24.99 - with web booking and credit card charges it came to $32.44

  • Yes, confirmed that this promo is only valid till June 30 2012. I bought a child Movie World ticket as well as 2 Ad and 1 Ch to Paradise Country. There is admin fee and credit card surcharge of additional $5-6 on check out. You print out the e-ticket yourself.

We have friends coming from OS next week, they'd only be interested in the day pass - $35.00 for an Adult movie world ticket seems ok. Is this deal applicable to non-locals? I think I remember reading somewhere previously that these myfun deals only apply if QLDers.

    • I've got the same question - I'm assuming they'd qualify for all of the offers except the "Local VIP" ones - is that right ? I don't see anything in the T&Cs at checkout about being for Australian residents only and it allows for other countries at checkout.
There's also the buy 3 get 1 free Super Pass option which seems to be slightly cheaper for someone who does want to visit those 3 parks - https://myfun.com.au/MyFun/Box-Office/Combo-Passes/Super-Pas…

  • when i put WIN12 in the box all the deals "RUN" away, helppp

    • Click on "Buy Tickets"
      - Go directly to the promo box and enter the code WIN12 and submit. DO NOT click on anything on the shopping menu.
      - All discounted price will show up in the menu. Just scroll and find the one you after

    http://gcparks.com/2012/04/50-off-at-village-roadshow-theme-…

To clarify any one day admission purchased under this offer must be used prior to July

  • Just saved $70. Thanks OP. :)

  • Are these delivered via e-mail or what? In checkout there are no options for delivery method.

    • they're e-tickets, you get them via email then print them out yourself
