  • Saw this last Friday. It looked like the 6600XT was better at $729.

The $70 here is worth the NVENC, DLSS, better RTX and CUDA accelerated software at least for some people.

if you think you're doing RTX on a 3060/ti then you haven't been paying attention.

        • Forget RTX - I think the DLSS is the game changer for NVIDIA if the game supports it.
Despite 3060/TI's DLSS ability is on the lower side, overall the 3rd gen NVIDIA cards have much better hardware support for DLSS (and RTX of course)

Fingers crossed AMD will be able to utilize their equivalent FSR feature on their next gen GPUs - we badly need this competition.

        • I can do RTX on my 2060 just fine smh. Anyways, it is improved RTX cores compared to AMD RT implementation.

          • @Skele-Cr: Really you can run games max graphics with rtx on and get a stable frame rate? Colour me impressed cos my 3090 sure can't πŸ˜…

            Unless you mean Minecraft

            • @Ruddaga: Running games at max graphics is often stupid and wasteful. It's about balanced and optimised settings for the hardware you have with or without RT. You should consider watching Digital Foundry on YT, they make very good explanations.

              • @Skele-Cr: Yeah I bought a 3090 gpu so I could min / max my settings around RTX.

If you're having to lower the settings to turn on rtx, hate to say it but you're sacrificing the actual visual quality of the game to put in a blurry shiney reflective surface.

It's like how people always rant and rave about DLSS, but I can tell the difference between it being on and off.

But hey, if you enjoy running your graphics at low to have RTX on, go nuts.

  • what's more worth it, this 3060 or the 3060ti listed below, my 1060 died like last week, and bought a 2nd hand 1030 temporarily..

    • +2

3060 Ti for Sure - it is the same die as 3070

However the pricing is obviously too high. I bought mine for around $800 but even in current market 3060ti priced around $1000 would be a great deal.

      • yeah, $400 price difference between the two, worth the money? no, the performance definitely.

        • +3

If you can hold for few more weeks/months then maybe wait and see. I have seen 3060tis' around $1000-$1050 in recent months.

For Comparison (with previous gen Nvidia cards) - 3060 is basically performs between a 2060 and 2060Super - where as 3060ti mostly outperform a 2080super

Edit: you can buy one of the best 3060tis for $1100 plus shipping - check https://www.ple.com.au/Products/646828/eVGA-GeForce-RTX-3060…

I owned this card and it performs very close to a 3070 at 1080p and 1440p (like 5%-10% slower than 3070 in most titles)

          • +1

@Bappy: agree, 3060ti is not bad for 1080p and 1440p. I own the gigabyte gaming oc 3.0 version, which can do OC to 1900MHz then close to one entry level 3070.

          • +1

@Bappy: i am using the 1030 temporarily, but in dire need of an upgrade, i just wanna get the most value for long term, i'm thinking this? it's overpriced but for what i'm spending i feel like it will be worth it.

@cephh: Yes FTW3 cards are really good (in my opinion), I rate them as good as Asus ROG Strix cards.

I own the Non Ti version of EVGA 3070 FTW3 - paid around $1350 and very happy with it.
I would say a 3070 around $1300-$1400 or 3070ti around $1400-$1500 would be a decent buy right now

              • +1

                @Bappy: appreciate the help brotha

            • @cephh: I didn't realise the 3070 TI's dropped in value so much, nice too see πŸ‘πŸ˜

  • +3

    $1199 for a 3060 Ti, the madness continues :(

  • Gee, non stop having better GPU prices, been flooded with these deals since mid Jan!

  • we start to see light at the end of the tunnel…
