Finally, Mayvers peanut butter at 1/2 price! Been waiting to restock since the last Coles deal

    • +5

The wife lost it last time I highjacked half a pantry shelf with peanut butter. I've been rationing my last jar waiting for this deal to come back. I'm excited to refill now lol

      • +2

The trick is to make room in other storage cabinets. How many did you get?!

      • Check Mayvers shelf life before you buy too many. Raw nuts, and Peanut butters that have no preservatives, can go rancid within a short period of time. Always refrigerate. I believe that raw nuts shelf life can be extended by freezing.

    • IMO, PIC's is better than Mayver but it hasn't been on half price for even longer so I guess I have to buy Mayvers again :/

      • Mayvers has more variety, which is cool. Eg crunchy dark roast, slightly higher protein.

Anyone knows when the 10% off Coles prepaid CC will be back, especially $250 ?

    • Yeah, I thought it would have come through last December.

  • Anyone tried the Golden Wok Grandma’s Pork Gyozas?

    • +3

I heard the wok is not really gold.

    • +3

it's aiight, worth trying urself at halfprice

someone's a bit pissy to neg

        • +1

they probably have an axe to grind with you

    • +4

They're not great to be completely honest. I enjoy the KB's ones more - even though they don't have a pork variety.

      • +1

KBs does have a pork variety. They have Prawn, Vegetarian, Chicken, and Pork.

        • Oh wow, the more you know - just thought it was Prawn and Vegetarian!

Good work with the negotiations this week. Was actually gonna ask if you could get coles to do another jordans and twinnings deal

No worries Gimli - you can get 1/2 price Twinings about once a month from Colesworth. I do like my Assam Bold.

      • +1

        My fav too.
I rotate between assam bold and dilmah(extra strong)

The Coles WA catalogue (set location to WA) seems to be about half the size and missing a lot of good stuff like the peanut butter.

    🥲

    • I can Uber eats some up to you.

    • +2

Indeed they’re certainly profiteering to the max in WA

      • -2

        The hermit kingdom.

      • they've been doing that since the first mining boom….cos obviously everyone's a cashed-up bogan.

    • @destroyer661 Is this a recent problem with Coles specials as I now have to change my location to WA (default is NSW)? I was caught this week with Connoisseur ice cream as I thought it was on special but not in WA.
I haven't noticed that Woolworths WA specials are different to Eastern states.

      • +1

Not sure. Only noticed it this week, likely due to issues with supply chains.

        • @destroyer661 Thanks.

  • +4

If you live in WA it would appear that supermarkets offers are rows of empty shelves.

    • it's so random with each store. my local coles was out of frozen chips, toilet paper, pain killers, liquid soap, shower gel, grab n go meals and pasta, but the nearby woolies had all of those and only out of cat food and noodles.

aldi had everything in-stock except for the usual special buys shenanigans lol

    • Same as NSW

    Great efforts there OP

Does anyone actually bother with return and earn in nsw. Its such a pita. I’m not driving down for 20 bottles/cans. But when you have hundreds its a job in itself. Just a total scam imo

    • takes me 1 minute 5 seconds to chuck in 20 bottles. most i ever did in one go was about 120 bottles which took just over 5 minutes. i'm lucky i have an rvm near me i guess. i don't particularly trust those places where you leave your bag of whatever for them to count.

      • I might give it another go. 5 min for $12 is worth it. Maybe i was just being slow. Also, how filthy are humans. The ones in my area have become the new charity bin dumping sites

        • +1

          Also, how filthy are humans

oh don't get me started. no matter how regularly the staff clean the machines and floors, the building always smells like a nauseating combo of fruit juice and beer that's gone way off. that's probably why i'm so quick these days lol.

what's wrong with people? do they generate that much crap that their bin at home can't take it?

    • And the locations of the return machines is ridiculous! There is not a single reverse vending machine in the Sydney CBD, Ultimo, Pyrmont, Glebe, Annandale, Newtown, Chippendale, or Redfern. There are 100,000 people living in these suburbs with only a few over-the-counter locations (and I've tried claiming at some of these stores, last time I tried half said they weren't doing it any more, and the other half balked at anything more than about 8 bottles), and some donation stations. But dare to actually want YOUR deposit back for 50 cans? What a PITA. Drive to some places that you wouldn't go to anyway. So inefficient and a total waste of time. Why isn't there an reverse vending machine at convenient locations? How about one in Broadway shopping centre carpark? (I've written to both the scheme and the shopping centre suggesting that, zero action on it though). How about in a corner of popular parks? Basically places people would be going anyway. So yes, I agree, it's a total scam, and it should be removed. And I say that very reluctantly - I thought/hoped it would be great for the environment and would reduce litter, at zero practical cost to people who already recycled their bottles. But the cost is enormous (and totally impractical for most people), and it seems to do almost nothing/very little to stop litter. It is absolutely a scam, it's generating a windfall for somebody (probably councils, the state government, and/or the drinks manufactures), it should be scrapped, because the actual implementation is unfit for purpose.

  • Be wary with the Nutri Grain, the newer boxes are now 765g and at my local these were mixed with the 805g boxes at same price. I bought the 400g boxes which were on clearance and cheaper than both!
