  • If I was going for this, I'd strongly advise adding another 16gb stick for dual channel.

$2k does seem tad on the steep side however. You're paying a lot for the…1000nit screen I guess?

A slight trim on the footnote text would be nice too, if I can nitpick =p

    • +2

Agree. Too expensive. You'd have to really want that screen to buy.

      • -2

It would be great if you could provide an alternative 2 in 1 touch laptop, with an 8 core CPU and a 1000 nits screen that is cheaper.

        • +3

"You'd have to really want that screen to buy."

    • Yeah I agree thats its very expensive, and the screen is only FHD…

    • I'm surprised that this even has RAM slots. The Pavilion, Envy, and Spectre 13" laptops have soldered RAM.

Laptop prices are all over the place lately, but generally seem to be sitting a bit high.

  • I would advise against any of HP's laptops with the Sure View privacy screen. I had a spectre with this and it was horrible. Even with the privacy screen off and the brightness on max the text was fuzzy. Adjusting via windows ClearType text did nothing. Obviously each to their own but I would recommend you at least have a look at one of these screens in person prior to purchasing. HP support was great though and accepted my return with a full refund processed within a week.

  • Wanted to like this but Sure View is a Sure Deal Breaker on its own:

[15] HP Sure View integrated privacy screen is an optional feature that must be configured at purchase and is designed to function in landscape orientation.
[16] Touch-enabled display and Sure View privacy panel will lower actual brightness.

The idea of a 2-in-1 is to be used in portrait mode occasionally… Previous work laptop had Sure View and it was horrible even in landscape mode.

Also, no pen or Thunderbolt at this price?

    • +1

Thunderbolt will only be coming to AMD chips via usb4 (some incarnation of TB3 spec) which should be next gen - 6000 series.

      • Cheers, I wasn't aware that TB was not available on AMD chipsets (been with Intel for too long…) Time for me to read more tech journals :)
