    • I still have that exact ANZ open and they just approved me. So it might not be an issue.

  • Anyone else getting page not found when clicking the links?

    • On desktop yes, but mobile was fine. Applied on mobile and then uploaded supporting docs on desktop.

      • +1

It was the content blocker. Disabled and worked for me.

    • disabling wifi and private relay on iPhone made it work for me

    • Out of curiosity, are you with Aussie Broadband or have a Google Wifi router?

    • -3

Are you standing under the Earth’s Sun?
      N..n…now?

  • Could someone who’d just applied for this card please advise how many payslips they are after? What other documentation do they need? Tia.

    • +1

      2 payslips.
I had to email mine, as my provisional confirmation page crapped out and didn’t include my NAB ID, nor did I get an email or SMS.

      • +1

My application crashed twice when I was nearly finished & had to restart from the beginning. So my wife suggested take screenshots all the way through app, which I did and helped me fill in faster the 3rd go

        • +2

I have more to add. I got an SMS the next day with a link to verify my identity and upload payslips. But it had my middle name as my surname (I didn’t provide it, so I assume they linked me to an old account from 2014 where must be a data error) so I couldn’t verify my new application. This resulted in a phone call, a 50 minute session with staff in a branch (over 30 mins to photocopy and email my identity cards), and then 4 more calls of totalling 2.5 hours of contact. But I’m all good now, I hope - CC in reportedly the mail.
It’s funny how one little data error can result in so much effort from the applicant and staff to resolve.
          This isn’t the NAB I remember from 2014. 🤷‍♂️

    • From the webapge after applying.

If your income goes to a NAB account and is the same amount for each pay period, you may not need to upload anything. If not, upload one of the following:

Any two of your last three payslips from your employer (not more than one month old); or
A bank account statement showing the last two or more of your salary deposits (not older than three months).
We may need further documents from you but we'll contact you if that is the case.

    • They asked for 2 of your last 3 payslips (no older than 60 days) and to verify my identity in a branch

  • +1

    404 error, can't apply

  • Any ideas how I can meet minimum spend? Can I book something and then cancel after points go through?

    • +3

Pre-pay your: phone, internet, electricity, gas, and health/car/house insurance accounts.

      Buy gift cards.

Plus general day to day spend should do it

      • pre-pay bills with bpay from credit card or?

        • Just use the CC numbers to pay.

  • +3

Got conditionally approved but now need to go in a branch to verify my identity (gave them my licence details). Never had to do that in any of my other CC applications. This cc is now looking a lot less appealing

    • did you get a call for the ID verification? or was it part of the requirements once you logged on and viewed your application status? with mine, it asked for 2 payslips..(I initially gave my drivers lic and medicare #)

      • It is part of the requirements after I viewed my application via internet banking. The application had two tasks pending, 2 payslips and verification of my identity.

    • +2

Agreed. Ridiculous sending people into a branch. Would be a dumb move on NAB's part.

    • now this is getting annoying….got a call now that I have to visit their branch to show more ID (I previously gave them 100 pts) ..never had to do this with my previous card applications….been at the same address for the past 9 years

    • +1

Had to do this for my ANZ application last year. Was a pain.

  • I think that's a great rate

I got the Amex with 300,000 points however they charged (as I knew anyway) $1,500 for annual fee.

  • Thanks OP. I work for NAB so don't need to churn haha

  • Can i buy gift cards with this to reach that 3k limit?

    • Yes.

  • +1

can you buy BTC via bPay to earn the points ?

  • How quick are NAB on approving applications? I got conditionally approved automatically pending payslips.
ANZ from memory were really quick, within 24 hours of application.

    • +1

When I applied for NAB in October, the application was approved at 10:00am the next business day after applying at 11pm, shouldn't be too long for you.

    • I just got approved and applied around 1:30pm yesterday

  • +2

Application process 2 years ago with NAB was worse than pulling teeth. Inefficient,
Laborious, frustratingly slow and not worth the effort.

    • +2

Sounds like the complete opposite process here recently, NAB was one of the most efficient applications I've been through.

    • +1

it may have changed since…it took me 45 mins…what took a while was estimating how much your general expenses are

    • +1

I had that experience with ANZ.

  • +1

Pardon me for such a noob question but the application has a section in debts where it asks
    your current loan amount
    how much do you owe
can someone please explain to me the difference?

    • +3

The loan amount is how much you borrowed and the owing amount is how much you have left to pay.
For example, if you took out a car loan for $10,000 then that would be your loan amount. Then if you've paid off most of it and the remaining balance of the loan is only $1000 then that would be how much you owe.

      • thank you

    • +2

I called NAB to clarify this point - the guy I spoke to was confused by that as well! He double checked and confirmed 'current loan amount' should read 'original loan amount'. He also said it appears as 'original loan amount' from their end, so had no idea why it shows as 'current loan amount' from our end but said he'd put the feedback through to get that updated.

  • Can anyone say why this NAB card is better than ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card ( other than eligibility reasons)

    https://www.anz.com.au/promo/personal/credit-cards/frequent-…

ANZ card seems to provide access to lounge two times in a year and also seem it has potential to earn more points (caps and all). Itlso seems that it will cost less (with 255 back on card to spend)

100,000 bonus Qantas Points and $255 back to your new ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card when you spend $3,000 on eligible purchases in the first 3 months from approval and an additional 30,000 Qantas Points when you keep your card for over 12 months.

    • +1

Agree the ANZ card provides the better benefits if you happen to be eligible for either card. I kept getting knocked back by ANZ for the Black card so the NAB card is my other option.

Also many of us churn cards and are bound by the 12 week cooling down period. So it's about applying for whichever card one is "eligible" for.

You can even apply for both if you believe you will meet the spending requirements of both (and are approved by the banks).

    • +2

You can do both, one after another. Go with NAB first because the deal has expiration date, while ANZ don't set expiration (ie, they can pull it off tomorrow or next year). That is my preference.

Not sure about if ANZ would do refund on the pro rata fee, but NAB would be my first choice if I have to pick one. Less out of pocket (after get back fee refund) for me as I can do the minimum spending within 1 month - pay advance for Utilities, Insurance, Amazon/WW gift cards, etc.

      • +1

Anz refused a pro rata refund yesterday on the phone

  • Thank you

  • After uploading payslips through internet banking, I hit continue and it takes me back to the application screen saying I need to upload docs - but the docs have saved on the system.

    Is that normal?

    • Yeh my application is the same. I assume it's normal and will progress once they've been looked at?

    • Yeah that's the same as me. I gave them a call and they said it should be fine.

    • +1

Same experience here, thought I was stuck in a loop. I called them about it and they told me everyone calls with the same question. I left some feedback that there is no indication for the user to tell them the docs had been accepted. Obviously tech team need to change some things.

    • +2

Yeah happened with me too. Called on the day, and they told me only 1 of my payslips was seen on their end. Uploaded 3-4 payslips and they said they see them and itl go to verifications over the next 24 hours. 2 days later i call again, they say its in progress, and i get the case managers direct number. I call them, leave a voicemail, then 30 mins later i get approved.

NAB should have the money to fix this imo.

    • Same thing happened to me. Also called NAB to confirm that it was submitted successfully despite online application still saying 'To Do' and no written confirmation of submission.

  • When I try to apply and it asks "are you an existing NAB customer".

Yes, then try to log in, says "Cannot continue with online application". Weird

  • +2

Applied Tuesday and uploaded payslips same day. Got a call yesterday (after a txt 5mins prior) confirming a couple of things and just received a txt confirming approval and card to arrive shortly.

I have churned this card previously and concur with someone who commented earlier that it's worth ringing NAB and confirming they have your QF number linked to your account cause previously I waited 2 or 3 statement periods for my points even though I was eligible for the bonus from the first statement period but in actual fact my QF number was not linked correctly even though I gave it as part of the application process.

    • Went through the same process. I called them after 1st statement.

    • I gave them a call to check my QFF number after my card got approved and they confirmed that there wasn't one on file, even after entering it on the application form. So yeah best to check with them.

  • +1

Also applied Tuesday and just got approved.

  • +1

does payment of ATO bill count towards the $3,000. i cant seem to find anu mention of it?

    • +1

I think you can get around stuff not counting towards the bill by paying with a service like Bundll for example and then using your credit card to pay off the Bundll account

      • +2

You can use Sniip to do so as well.

    • I was asking the same question. Found this reddit thread.

  • +1

I bank with NAB and applied yesterday. Got a call today saying I needed to provide proof that I have closed x, y and z credit cards they have found past payments to on my account. Never been asked this before by any other bank. I withdrew my application as I don't have the letters anymore and I'm not phoning each one to ask them to send a letter / email.

    • +1

credit rating agencies would have all these info already. Weird that NAB would ask this question.

    • I have a feeling they're going to call me and ask for the same thing… the online application said they had potentially found liabilities that I hadn't included. No idea what this could be as I included everything and a quick check of my own credit report online confirms that.

    • Existing customer, with payments to other credit cards from NAB accounts?

I've had them ask the same in the past.

  • +1

had to visit a branch to explain why my payslip company name was different from my application (its processed by a sister company as a shared service) my fault of course…but not sure why I could not just say that to the person over the phone as the bank teller did not require any further documents from me… just a verbal explanation

    • Probably backend approval team was too lazy to find out directly from you.

  • Do they verify expenses if you don't bank with them?

    • I don't bank with them and wasn't required to.

  • Conditionally approved but it’s still saying annual fee is $395. Is this right and we just get charged the 195$?

    • Same. But i cbfd sending the paperwork they require. I shouldn’t of set the limit so high, maybe they would’ve approved it quicker

  • +1

Received an approval text overnight. Must be some offshore processing happening.

  • Got approved. Hopefully cancel within 2 months. How long does QFF points get credited for?

    • +2

At every statement. So if you meet the req spending on 2nd month, you'll see the bonus points couple days after the statement date.

  • Use this card to fund a stocking broking account to meet minimum spend would be quick way. But there will be a charge of around 1.x%.

    • Is there an example of how you could do this? is bpay count towards minimum spend for bonus?

      • just the usual EFT to my stock broker. It will be treated as a purchase. Not cash advance. Check with yours.

        • Thanks I'll have a look, not sure if commsec do this

  • Do i need to wait for the physical card to arrive or i can use it immediately once approved? I read it somewhere but cant remember if this is the card.

    • +1

As soon as you activate the card.

    • How would you use it without receiving it?

      • +2

Once you know the card details:

        • Unless I'm missing something, you won't know the card details until you receive it? You can't activate the card in the NAB app without the last 8 digits.

          • +1

@atlas: That is generally the case. Some banks let you access a digital version of the card before you receive it, e.g. Westpac

            • +2

@muncan: Well I'm happy to report that I was able to use NAB Pay through the NAB app on my Android phone, without activating the card, at Woolies this morning.

              • @atlas: Nice. Unfortunately for me the Apple app is a bit more secure so I can’t use ApplePay until my card is activated.

                • @muncan: I too cant seem to find the card number after logging on to the online account using an iPhone

                  • +1

@LSGH: Try your letterbox. Mine was embossed on a piece of plastic wrapped in a paper envelope.

  • anyone used NAB Concierge Services before?

    • Does this card come with concierge? I've used credit card concierge and they can be helpful (like the time I asked the concierge to guide me to an appointment as I drove because I'd run out of data and I had no map)

      • +1

That’s what I wanted to know what all stuff can concierge do!

        • +1

“Call my wife, and tell her I’ll be late”
Grabs popcorn… this could be interesting.
Oh wait, could they get the popcorn for me?

        • bookings or purchases…

  • Does bpay transactions count towards everyday purchases for the bonus points? e.g bpay gas, electricity etc

Under 7.1 I couldn't see anything that mentioned bpay not eligible

    https://www.nab.com.au/personal/credit-cards/terms-condition…

  • My partner applied for this card, got a call from NAB to verify DOB, name, .. basically all details.
Then they asked to come into a branch anyway for in person identity check.
Application is still not "approved". Only conditional approval which basically doesn't mean anything.
The person in NAB branch couldn't see the details and said nobody was assigned yet so the branch couldn't call anybody from credit department…

Really hope final approval goes smooth, otherwise big waste of time..

  • Sorry if this has been asked (its a long thread) but can you purchase another card attached to the same account as primary card? One for me and one for wife type of setup. Thanks.
