It's not an "off" when u need to sign up a plan,
it just a installment, u pay them back in a 24 month peroid.

    • not really considering you're getting a 300GB Plan with it?

      • +3

If you take advantage of that then could be a good deal. But the vast majority wont use anything close

      • -3

        I don't think it's 300GB per month !
If the 300GB is for 24month then its only 12GB a month, worth less then $20.
u pay $99 and $79 is the repayment of the phone,
over all u will need to pay much much much more.

      • +2

        Why neg me?
Even it's 300gb per month u still could use the Felix's unlimited data for $35 and get a outright phone, it still cost u much less

        • +4

I think they dont like your ignorance failing to grasp the 300GB data is per month.

        • It's a two or three hundred dollars difference over a period of 2 years, so not that much less.
If you take into account interest and inflation and stuff it's probably even closer or maybe in favour of the telstra deal. idk, the maths seems complicated haha.

Also there's benefits to some people of using Telstra over "felix", like felix seems like it caps your speed at 20mb/s. Whereas the telstra one is much faster, supporting 5g speeds (even 4g in many times faster than 20mb/s). If you use the Telstra 400gb plan for $75/mt as reference, this deal only costs 99-75 * 24 or ($576) plus the upfront fee

  • Shouldn't minimum cost add handset cost?

For those interested, S22 Ultra "S908E" has Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor while "S908B" has Exynos 2200 processor. Thankfully, the model being sold in Australia is "S908E" - Snapdragon.

You're missing the 'Upfront' costs from your post OP
    $599 for 128Gb + $99/m = $2,975
    $749 for 256Gb + $99/m = $3,125
    $899 for 512Gb + $99/m = $3,275

Does anyone actually use 300gb a month?

    • +6

With porn now in 4K? Absolutely mow through 300gb

    • I use from 2GB normally, to 5 GB at most if I travel and tether.

  • $650 off the s22 for a 24 month/$99 plan?

    Pixel 5 I got $800 off for a 12 month/$99 plan.

  • Would've done it if I had good 5G reception to replace my nbn, that's more than double my consumption.

  • If only they had 12 month plans for the S22s

  • +3

Good deal…. IF you need to pay $99 a month for your plan (for the data usage).
If you only need a plan that's $60/month, then you're effectively spending an extra $960 over two years, for the privilege of having a lot of excess data that you don't use.

  • +2

If they combined it with the $30 off mobile plane it would be a decent deal

  • Spoke to a rep at JB, they say this also applies to the base S22 and S22+, so you can use this deal to essentially get the base s22 128gb for free.

    • Curious to know if they're doing any deals with the $69/m plan on the S22+. Might have to visit a store this weekend

      • They are now doing the $69 plan

  • Can you use the JB HiFi trade in with this? i.e. bonus $450 + phone value to offset the outright cost? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/682372

    • Would also love to know the answer to this

    • I think they answered at the top, that they can't be used along with trade in coupons.

      • Confirmed in store it works, however, I can't as I am with Boost, a Telstra network supplier.

        • wait what, they said yes?

          • @michael9865: Yeah, there's a specific Samsung deal on offer for the $69/m plan which has a larger voucher that can't be used with the $450 trade in, but if you use the basic $69/m + $300, the voucher can be used. At least that's what I was told.

        • Move to aldi mobile for a week and move back to Telstra?

          • +1

@BigLeviathan: Needs to be a month, and unfortunately I don't have a local JB's and they told me they only do it in store.

    • Im pretty sure the guy in store today said you can, but you only get $1000 voucher off the handset + trade in + bonus $450

  • Whats the early exit charges for telstra plan these days? Also can we exit early or not really?

  • wonder if anyone was able to get a $30 discount through Telstra added on

Good Guys have better deal, $499 upfront (for 128gb model) with $99 x 24months telstra plan

  • I am still on the $99pm for 12month with the s21 deal last year.

How can i port an existing telstra post paid number to this new deal?

Should i cancel or port my existing telstra number to another prepaid like amaysim and then avail for this deal? Is there a waiting period to port back to telsrra?

    Or
Get this deal as a new customer and with a new number then contact telstra support to swap my existing number to this new deal?

Plan is to avail/renew this jb promo of $99pm woth new phone every year.

I hope jb does the same deal by EOFY.
