Good price. Any chance of an esim?

    • +1

Sorry to thread jack, and how do esims work in terms of moving to another phone, l can I swap it from phone to phone via an App etc ?

I am interested in an esim as well.

      • Would also like to know this. If a friend and I are in business and take turns manning the phone, can we just ‘swap’ esims?

        • Pagerduty or Twilio software apps can handle this by call routing.

          • @Flintz: How? I looked up both of these apps in the AppStore and they look a lot more confusing than handing over a SIM card.

      • While I don't believe Catch supports eSIM, Whirlpool has some good info on how it works and which telcos support it: https://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/esim

    • Nope.

    • Don't think mvnos offer e-sim

  • How long do these stay on sale for? Terms say activate within 30 days of purchase but I have about 8 more weeks of current plan.

    • +2

From T& C: "Offer ends 1/03/22, unless withdrawn earlier"

      • Thank you for finding that. I didn't see it. Times nearly perfectly well for me.

I activated my sim 2 months after purchasing. Chat was pretty good to confirm its allowed.

  • This is for new users only

    • New only.

      • -1

Are you sure it's specifically new user only or existing user getting another (new) number/SIM?

  • Are you able to pay by discounted Catch gift card?

    • Yes, but you need to buy it from catch.com.au website

  • These guys had so many technical problems for me. Don't recommend them.

    • Who Optus?

      • +1

Are you locking that guess in?

      • Gladys will fix it.

Bought this plan back in Oct when it was 240GB data deal (just had the cashback come through the other day for it in fact) and have had no troubles, so YMMV.

      • Internet is not relaible.

        • I think I've had one drop-out in the 4 months since I got it, I live close to a cluster of Optus towers though. Compared to another device which is on kogan which gets small (<5min) drop-outs 2-3 times a week, and only the one vodafone tower further away.

      • I wish this deal was back

    • I got the 240GB deal for $109 which I activated last month and have had no problem. My number ported within minutes too

      • 240GB for $109 over 12 months? Great deal

        • Take off $11 with shopback and it was even better!

    • I’m having issues with call waiting since switching, which they can’t seem to fix or escalate to their “level 2” support as they keep promising.

They also told me they would disable voicemail from their end for me so I don’t get voicemails and no luck…

Other then that the coverage and reliability is pretty decent. Just annoying getting voicemails i don’t want and no call waiting.

    • Same boat for me too. Bought the 365d Sim early Jan, then tried to port across 2weeks ago. They had so many issues porting me and left me with no internet or SMS access after they ported the number. All the Level 2 bullshit was provided and Optus having the technical issues. This was my first time having so much issues just porting a number across.

    • Same here - significant issues with call quality, kept dropping out. Data was just ok. Changed to another provider with 2 months left on the plan. I wouldn't purchase again.

buy from catch.com.au instead of catchconnect.com.au to be able to use discounted gift card
    https://www.catch.com.au/product/catch-connect-365-day-mobil…

    • Also - it's a lot quicker. I was having issues on the catchconnect site (cc fields wouldn't accept numbers go figure), called and a friendly agent suggested it was "quicker and easier" to buy via Catch.

I bought this for $30 when there was a pricing error last year. Sadly, today I had to move to kogan 3 months for $14.9

    • Isnt it $2.90 for one month?

      • Yes but new customers only (in fact I think $1 Unidays deal is still current?) so you can't keep the same number month-to-month.

      • there is another deal $14.90 for 3 months. It saves you to find another deal to port-out back to port-in every month.

    NETWORK?

    • +1

      OPTUS.

  • Since I switched to Catch Connect, I've had data connection errors when the phone is in a moving vehicle which require a restart of the phone to fix. My guess is that it's a problem with handover. Has anyone else had the same problem?

  • My catch plan ends next week. Need a deal from another carrier.

    • Port to Kogan for $1 then come back to this Catch for the next year.

  • What happened to the international calls they used to include??

  • Went to their support page to ask a rep to confirm expiry date of sim (planning for current plan to end in July) and their "Start Chat" button has javascript:void(0) showing when you hover over it (click does nothing).

    Not great advertising!

  • What happens if I activate my SIM card after the 30 day period? My current plan ends 30/03/2022 but I bought a $1 Kogan SIM so I can use that for a month and come back to Catch as a “new customer”
