    1 Charge = 6 months

In reality, it's probably about half that…

    • +2

      half a charge = 6 months?

    • I disagree. I purchased and installed a set of 4 about 3 months ago. Based on the indicator, still has around 70% charge left in them. Just note that I have a small household so less people moving around.

      • Not the best price - so not upvoting the deal as I got the 4 cams + HomeBase 2 + Door sensor/alarm bundle a while back for $499. But given the inflation, logistical challenges, lower A$ etc., the deal isn't too bad. Like everything else these days, get it if you need one and don't wait for it to be any cheaper (especially when it comes to security gadgets like this).

Battery wise it's fairly good. High traffic areas get more than 6 months of coverage before you need to charge while low traffic areas will last you over a year (YMMV - just sharing my experience). I just use a powerbank with a 3m cable to charge it when needed. It takes a few hours to fully charge but gets the job done.

Just make sure this comes with a HomeBase 2 (which I assume it would as the listing says 16GB storage) as you won't be able to use the cams without a HomeBase.

        • Wow…. when and where did you get this bundle from? Great price.

          • @Lone star: Harvey Norman - called them to get a deal and they were happy to bring it just under $500. Advertised priced was around $650. Bought it around 18 months ago and there were a fair few deals goings around for these camera packs back then (including 2/3/4 pack with Homebase) from different retailers like Supercheap Auto, Officeworks, Amazon etc. If you search Eufy 2C on OzBargain, you'll find a fair few deals that were posted in late 2020/throughout 2021.

            • @sacs2k1: but this is the Eufy 2c Pro 2k. I suppose they are different models

  • Is this easy to install on your own or you need a qualified tradies for that ?

    • Not for this. DIY!

    • -3

It really depends if you're good at screwing or not…

    • +1

Extremely easy to DIY as long you've got a suitable drill for the material you'll be drilling for the camera mounts into (wood/masonry etc.). I was able to get the system setup, installed and running on my devices in under an hour.

  • How does this compare to Arlo?

  • +2

Really serious security flaw in these that lets someone wipe your storage by holding the sync button. Been over a year without being resolved now.

    • -5

If they have a ladder and are that committed then power to them.

    • -3

      Already discussed in every thread.

      • And a very valid reason not to buy them that should be mentioned every time.

And I speak as someone who owns 2.

A good camera otherwise, although the battery lasts nowhere near what is stated, even with energy conserving settings.

        • So do we also need to post the mitigations every time, too?

I beg to differ on battery life. See below.

          • @gadgetguy: I'd be interested in comparing settings as i'm getting nothing near that. I have one out front and one out back. Maybe get about 20 notifications from each per day, even on optimal battery setting i'm losing about 30% per month.

  • I've got 5 of these cams installed, 3 are outside and are on solar panels so don't need charging.

Based on usage to date, the other 2 (inside) are currently tracking towards 300 days.

I only installed these a couple of months ago so did a lot of playing around and streaming from them which wouldn't happen in normal use.

    • hi, I am interested in how do you connect these cams to the solar panels ? sounds interesting…

  • There is not a lot of info in Good Guys Commercial website about getting the membership other than calling them. What are the requirements to get the membership?

    • Did you end up finding some useful info that you can share?

    • In my case I have it through MemberAdvantage, one of the perks of being with a union.

  • I found this one is $608 from Amazon. They look like the same
