  • Not bad for a budget Moonwatch

    • Quartz kills it for me otherwise good choice with bragging rights. Size is gigantic though.

This is not your average quartz. It is a high-accuracy 242khz "Precisionist" caliber instead of the normal garden variety 32.768khz Quartz calibers. It has a smooth(ish) sweep rather than the full second single tick.

Bulova made some amazing watches back in the day. This carries not only the Moonwatch heritage but also their technological innovation.

        • agree mate. have gone thru all their details, that's why i said it is a good choice. But thanks for the reply with the details.

@Ash SA: Hey, I am a mechanical guy myself. It was my Jade Monster that Jody reviewed on JOMW. But if you are going to get a quartz as a mechanical guy, this is the one to get - or any within their Precisionist range which has a 262khz in it. Great innovation, fabulous horological history, and damn accurate to boot.

            • @Monsta-AU: For the price yes it's the one to get.
I think the benchmark is grand Seiko a 9f movement. Unfortunately it's at least 10 times the price.

        • 242khz ….1/3 second sweep ….what is the battery life of such ad ended quartz technology ?

          • @garage sale: About 2yrs. I have a bunch of these movements and they are fantastic, but they do like eating the juice.
My favourite quartz movement this side of a Grand Seiko springy.

  • Great watch, way too big for me.

    For any prospective buyers
keep in mind the lug to lug is 52mm

    • so even bigger than the IWC big pilot…

  • Would just love one at this price but but the size might rule me out.

  • For those on the fence due to the size check out the all black version which is also at 399AUD. While not really too different in any other the all black scheme makes the watch look and wear smaller than it is

  • Thanks, Purchased!

  • I got the 96B258 (stainless steel band) from StarBuy in a previous sale, and love it, its my daily

    • for how much mate ?

  • Does anyone know who stocks this watch in Melbourne? Tried to Google it but couldn't find. I wanted to try it in person.

    • Would it be safe to assume that this includes the special edition watch tool? It does not seem to be mentioned in the description.

  • It's the same model number, 96B251, so you would have to think so.

Edit: Meant to reply to @lumiere

    • bought mine from Starbuy as they are fast on delivery and seem to sometimes do deals for Ozbargain …… hindsight maybe Amazon would have been better with some cashrewards back …..

  • I have already received mine. Super fast delivery, this is the first time I have ordered from Starbuy and I am very happy.

    • I have a few watches from Starbuy and they are FAST on delivery …..
