Galax GeForce RTX 3080 Ti SG 12GB Graphics Card $2179 Delivered @ BPC Tech

460

Hi everyone,

Saw this special pop up on pcpartpicker and have realised this is the second cheapest 3080Ti posted on Ozbargain by $10. If you are extremely eager for a card this is a "good buy" in relation to the current market but no telling if prices may decrease further. Additionally it may be worth considering the future generations of cards set to release Q3-Q4 this year if you are buying a higher end product but that is just my opinion.

I own a 3080ti and it is ridiculous, 4k 60fps Ultra on Horizon Zero Dawn with no issues only RDR2 has given it a bit of trouble that DLSS amends.

some say this is ugly… they would be right

vertical mount or windowless recommended :D

    • +1

the 4th clip fan might bump into ddr modules or the front panel USB 3 cable if horizontally mounted.

the main 3 fans got RGB so looks better vertically mounted.

      some say this is ugly

Wouldn't know, it's under the desk.

      • A good place for bumping uglies

    • +1

Personally I feel the HOF version has much better looking but the retailers are selling it for around $2800 which is just unbelievable.

    • +3

Do computer components need to be good looking nowadays?

      • I've had open air or windowed case builds for last 15 years - so at least not fugly due to design choices that too 'out there'

the backplate is my issue with this card - don't like it with or without the optional 4th fan

not sure if any 3rd party backplates fit

      • If you are paying over 2k for a card then yes

        • Funny, all the silly lights bother me.

I either turn them off or hide them.

    • meh, each to their own. Personally I rather like the look of it. (with the exception of the idiotic "what's your game" slogan.)

  • Galax really needs to remove the slogan 'What's your game?' on the card and the package.

    • +5

and remove the shaddy dude with da hood.

      • +3

But then elite bitcoin assassin bros wouldn't know this is the card for them.

        • +1

more like the shaddy dude is the crypto miner lol.

  • +1

    Waiting for 4K 100 fps 4080

    Also a bundle with 16GB RAM (3600Mhz, CL18, RGB) for $2288

    Here

    • Much much better buy for longevity. If you’re spending this much get the one that will last.

      • Isn't it the same card? Got price for the extra ram though

        • Exactly. But if you’re planning on 4K textures and want to crank it up to 11 you’ll need all that VRAM to store them.

          • +1

@JSONBourne: Vram? Aren't they the same between the 2 cards or you mean wait for a card with mor3 vram?

          • +1

@JSONBourne: It's 16GB of DRAM bundled with the card, not a 16GB VRAM GPU.

            • @Schmiddler: Oh sorry I misread the comment. ignore! If only I could edit my comment.

  • This card is literally selling for RRP now.

  • nut

this card looks like it's going to kick my ass

  • what game would require this as a recommended spec?

    • +5

      minesweeper

      • +1

        minesweeper 3099?

    • Battlemine 2044

    • +3

lol got negged for asking a genuine question… tough crowd

    • +1

AAA titles if you game at 4K. Ray tracing brings even a 3080ti to it's knees.

      • Not even that. I'm on 3440x1440 and total war 3k makes my 1080 shit itself. X4 does the same.

So yeah, for big boy resolutions, you NEED stronger cards.

    • Etherverse. It's the 👍 game 🎯 in town.

  • +1

Another GPU deal, yeah keep them coming pls!

    • you buy?

  • +2

Prices will keep falling, I think people should wait it out, especially since we are so close to 5/6nm refresh cards end of year and crypto has run out of puff.

    • Weather GPU mining would be profitable enough is in question. But crypto is not going anywhere sooner!

This architecture is already a couple years old. Who's buying a 3xxx series now?, might as well wait for the 4xxx and team red might even have some compelling options.

  • +1

Just the card for those who only want the 2nd fastest available!

  • +1

    Can it run Crysis?

    • Is the question now can it run Crysis remastered?

      • lol I didn't even know the specs for that

  • +2

    I remember 5 years ago I hesitated almost 3months whether buy a $1000 1080ti or not.

    Now GPU price is crazy

    • Exactly. People saying that 2k+ for a 2-3 year old architecture (rtx 3000) is cheap really baffle me.

      • RTX 3000 series is 18 months old (release was Sept 2020)

        • The point still stands. We're looking at a new architecture being released soon and still 2x rrp on these cards is outrageous.

          • @DigSpider: MSRP on 3080ti was 1949 AUD (or 1920, depends where you look)

            • @HeXa: That's the adjusted msrp. The new anchor after this latest craze.
I am talking about the historical msrp.
You know how all high end cards used to be anchored at 1k? Remember how that was the norm?

Just because manufacturers have been taking advantage of the situation and adjusted their msrp to double of what they should be, doesn't mean we have to simply roll over and take it.

Unless, of course, you like being rammed, in which case that's up to you. I, for one, don't.

  • Any reviews on this particular card?

  • This seems way cheaper than in the USA

  • Considering I paid $2169 RTX 3080 Ti XC3 ULTRA back last August. I would say take the shot if you dont mind the look for this card

  • Comes with free toe nail clippers (pictured)

  • Is it worth to spend $70 more for Gigabyte 3080 Ti Eagle?

    • This is probably better than the Eagle

Can the dumpster fire that is crypto please die a speedy death.

    • May be by 2140. Keep hodl?

    • lol no, if it wasnt for crypto i wouldnt have been able to pay off my house till my deathbed.

  • lol rip off hodl

  • This or msi suprim x 3080ti for $2420?

    • Suprim, I own one it is ridiculous, no coil whine and stupid silent and very beautiful ARGB. Out of the Aorous and the Strix it has to be the best top end card. And a lot more affordable than the other two haha. I can answer any other questions you might have as well :)

  • Thanks for the comment - I'm downgrading from the strix 3090, and have had the suprim x 3090 too really is nice. I just wasn't sure about this galax model. S stupid the strix 3080ti is over $3k though and I just don't know why the suprim is so much cheaper?

In the 3090 series the Suprims and strix are similar money.

    • I believe it's due to the ASUS brand being known as the way the to go this generation. TUF cards got rave reviews from Gamers nexus and other reviewers for having the best cooling at the lowest price, now its the best cooling at the highest price due to all the hype lol. I think strix cards are also very popular in those ARGB, aesthetic O11 builds. Not so sure about the second claim but the first statement is very true

  • fyi - these are $1999 and in stock again
