  • Apple iPhones 13 series only 20% off. Wondering if this is a good value? and not jacked up points/prices.

They had 30% off iphones last month. If not in a hurry maybe wait for the next 30% offer

What are qantas points dollar rate at the moment? Looking at the Webber family Q for just over 100,000 delivered but no idea if that's good

    • Guy looking to buy at 80c in classifieds so would be better selling to him and buying it

      • 80c a point??? Where is this guy!

    • +3

I sold a bunch last week for 0.9c per point. Let me know if interested and I can refer you on.

      • Yes hit me up pls. I have some to offload

    • It's not good at all. Just bought a return ticket to Europe for 110,000 miles. It would have costed me $2,000+. Sure, buying a ticket in economy with miles is definitely not the best way to spend them but I don't really care about flying in business. Same flight in business was approx 300,000 miles.

      • +7

Google says it’s only 8,752 miles

      • They’re points, not miles. Unlike American carriers, there is no direct link between distance and redemption value.

        • Correct, no direct link. However, if you sell/buy QFF points on OzB Classifieds the going rate is 0.9-1cpp for QFF Points.
@d0nkey that'd mean the Weber Family Q is priced at $1,000AUD if you were to value points at 1cpp.

          • +1

@yojabbajabba: In that case, the Weber Q is $732 right now delivered from appliances online and has been as low as $600 in the past.

I guess the trade off is not technically being allowed to sell points and the hassle in doing so.

@RENERO Please always remember to include the taxes that you had to pay as well. It's a big bug bear of mine when people leave that detail out because it is then not a like for like comparison vs. pure cash fare.

  • Point prices for most items have increased by ~20-30% over the last few years on the qantas store. Pretty sure it's been a deliberate move so they can hold these ebay style 30% off sales more regularly and maintain previous point prices.

    E.G. I bought an iPhone 12 Pro 256Gb ($1870) for 260,000 15 months ago not on sale.

This sale on at the moment has the iPhone 13 Pro 256GB ($1870) for 260,000 on sale down from 325,000 with "20% off" lol.

Its just a marketing ploy. Nothing is cheaper points wise.

    • +1

Not really, i just checked my receipt and iPhone 11 pros 256gb went for 320,000 points as the normal price back in the day

Is there a site similar to pricehipster/3camels that tracks historical points redemption values for qantas store?

  • Is anyone else not having their points plus discount show on anything at the moment?

    • Last sale it didn't seem to apply either. I can't remember exactly what the deal was but remember investigating and finding some explanation that it didn't apply for some reason, perhaps on sale items?

      • It's not even showing up for me on undiscounted stuff. It's like they've just switched it off. Bit dodgy.

        • Add it to your cart

Thanks OP - bought a couple things

Thanks, managed to grab a Weber baby q for $160 and 21000 points

Managed to get the LG A9 prime Vacuum for approx 86892 points delivered. Not too bad given it's currently around $600 on the market.

  • It is amazing how much $ people are happy to tip down the drain with these Qantas rewards store "deals".

Just "sell" your points for cashola and stay well clear of the Qantas rewards store.

    • how do you sell them ?

      • Just email qantas and ask….

        • are you being sarcastic ?

            • @randomusername2017: is there a reason why ppl are buying these Qantas points? Are they using them in true oz bargain fashion for certain products/services that we aren't aware of?

              • @RichieVn: Assume some would buy for personal use.
Others for business.. onsell business and first reward seats at a slight discount to retail…quite a bit of discussion previously about tuvz and co

              • @RichieVn: Best use of Qantas points is Rewards bookings in Business, or upgrades. We tend to fly in business class on our holidays with one way paid for by rewards points, and one way by $$$, depending on availability. You basically fly business for only twice the price of economy.

                • @MandMs13: What about regular flights ie jetstar? Is it worth to book flights instead of redeeming for items?

                  • @RichieVn: Classic Rewards flights yes, pay by points, no (IMO)

Rm Williams good price? Even at the cash value it's a pretty decent deal?

    • +1

I think so. It shows 0 points + $416.50 + delivery for Comfort craftsman boots. I have seen around $400 on Ozbargain but generally with new accounts or first order deal with The Iconic.

  • No Fenix 7. Not really a great deal on the Garmin's either

    • Samsung watch 4?or Apple watch?

      • Samsung and Apple are toys in comparison

    • It seems like Fenix 7 is added to the promotion.

Also prices seems OK with minimum points + cash.

      Fenix 7 Silver/Graphite - 2000 points + $850.47
      Fenix 7 Solar Slate Gray/Black - 2000 points + 973.48
      Fenix 7X Solar Slate Gray/Black - 2000 points + $1138.47

  • Thanks op. Got myself a Weber q cover for $8 delivered. All I wanted from the Bic fiasco lol

  • +1

I'm surprised there's not much discussion on this, but the SpringFree Trampoline and accessory prices here are the best price I've seen in Australia for these.

Absolute bargain, because prices for top of the line, major brands like this don't move very much by the major distributors.

I made an order and received an SMS from Springfree for delivery, it's all very quick.

    Thanks OP!

    • Some of the deals were excellent even one wants to spend minimum points + cash. Glad that you managed to grab such a quality product.

    • Yep. We grabbed the jumbo on the last 30% off sale.

    r m williams gone llol

    • Thanks mate. Updated the post. I just wonder whether its Qantas or supplier R.M.Williams who realised offer was too good and should be pulled off.
