Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit drinking.

Apparently they're made by Orion beer in Okinawa Japan.

Hi OP, do you know if other Qld stores could price match for this? thank you

    • Unlikely

Great price. Too bad it's only available @ Dan's North Lakes.
The taste of the beer isn't good enough to drive 45mins each way for me.
I've had this and 500ml can Orion recently and Orion is miles better in taste!

Nice bargain, and an upvote for the flying high/airplane! reference.

  • anything Okinawa is good

    What's the alcohol content

    • +2

      5.0%.

Bought a slab today from Albany Creek Dan Murphy's, they had at least 20-30 in stock at around 3pm.

It's a lager, dark-ish in colour, and enjoying it quite a bit on a hot Saturday afternoon!

      • for $24.95?

  • No where near as good as the Monsuta Okinawa lager, but still it's brewed in Japan and isn't bad, a lot denser than most Japanese beers

    • +1

Agreed. Korudo very malty and meh, average beer. But I quite enjoy the Monsuta which is more of a classic clean Japanese lager.

I've visited the Orion beer factory in Okinawa several times. The last time I crawled out of the bar at the end of the tour.

Bought 6, still 20 left. Haven't tried yet but the japs usually make decent stuff.

  • Not recommended. For $48 not worth it (or even at $24.95)
Completely flat no carbonation and is just pretty awful.
Much prefer the Monsuta, or for $1.90 more get the Peroni best value larger.

  • It’s heavy. I started on my second 6pk from Bws and I’d had enough
