Was looking for a non Apple MBA equivalent for every day usage…
Great value. Subpar screen resolution and no backlit keyboard but I can live with that.

If you buy from MS store you can also choose a free accessory up to $129 in value. There are sleeves, car charger and screen protectors as options.

    3-7 business days for delivery.

The real deal is in the comments

    • Was this always the case? I bought this lappie from MS store and didn't get any extras

      • Not sure mate. But it definitely is there now - and has been over the weekend at least

Isn't it normal price at Microsoft store ?

Definitely on special. Not cheapest price ever but ok price. You can see the 4GB RAM / 64Gb storage version is more expensive than the 8Gb / 128Gb version.
256Gb version is also “on special”. But it’s not worth an extra $300 IMHO.

    • Now back to full price $1099

  • 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD: Is this really worth the spend?

    • Would be a great little machine for school or basic use. Unreal price. Probably would have got this as my second option if I didn't pick up the M1 MBA so cheap.

      • How cheap did you pick up M1 MBA?

Once I sell these Airpods, it should come down to close to $1K.

      • Do you think you made the correct choice? The apple walled garden puts me off

For what I use it for, it's perfectly fine (browsing, youtube, working remotely). Only gripe is that the MS Office products are missing a few features compared to the Windows version, but I can work around it most of the time.

I mainly got it for the battery life which so far has not disappointed. I use my high end desktop PC for heavier tasks/gaming.

A MBA is no more “walled” than a Windows laptop, even less so if you consider MS making a Microsoft Account a requirement to setup new Windows 11 machines.

You can download apps as normal from websites, and not touch an iCloud account.

Bought this laptop during Boxing Day sale from JB Hifi at $744

    • How is it?

      • +1

        Love it!

      • do you find it slow doing simple tasks like office, youtube watching? also is the screen reso that bad as they say? considering getting this for a year 6 school kid, with hopes that it will last for few years..

Trying to see if I should get this or the Inspiron 14 5415 which is $942 after discount.

        • Get the surface. Better finish and higher street cred. Perfectly overkill for a school student too

          • @SteatoLegato: thanks, was just wondering if it would be too tiny for him. he loves the touch screen. currently using a similar sized yoga 900s laptop. only issue is bluetooth and the keyboard on it sucks big time.

            • @lknight: People use iPad 12” as their primary device. Surface has 12.5” 2x3 aspect screen
