  • Had been waiting the last week or two for a 27" monitor to go on sale on here, so grabbed this one! Thanks!

  • +1

Which one's better out of these two:

    Dell 27 4K UHD Monitor - S2721QS 4K 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz AMD FreeSync HDMI

    Dell 27 4K UHD USB-C Monitor - S2722QC 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz 2xHDMI, USB-C

    • Do you have hdmi or usb c on you computer?

      • I've both of them 🤦

        • Por que no los dos? Just kidding then not sure.

        • if using with a laptop, go with s2722QC with USBC

    • +5

If you are going to connect via usb-C (and if so make sure your computer's port supports Display Port via Alt Mode) then I think the QC is generally the better option. If you're going to connect via HDMI or DP then the QS should be better for supporting best image quality.

There is a comparison between them on rtings.com that you can google - look like almost (if not) identical panels. You get updated firmware and a couple of USB A ports with the QC which seems worth the extra money to me.

    • +4

I would prefer QC. It can charge my laptop, the desk looks less messy

What's the Dell 31-32" version of this monitor (IP panel, 4K resolution, USB-C, flat-not curved) and is this size too big for desktop use ? (no gaming, just watching movies etc). The only one 31-32 inches I can see on their website is a curved monitor

    • U3219Q but is pro range and not cheap, have them at work very nice monitor

  • Thanks

  • anyone know if the desktop has decent cooling and not throttle?

    • Doubt it has 'good' cooling, but the 12700 isnt an 'unlocked' chip in the sense its only 65W, so the only real heat you'll get is straight from the 3070.

As such, I don't think you'll have overheating issues.

  • The S2722QC doesn't have VESA mounts.. how do you mount these on a gas monitor arm, or do people use the stand it comes with

  • Any promo for C3422WE?

  • Any promo on Dell gaming keyboard??

  • I got the S2722QC about 6 months ago when it was on sale. Great 4K USBC monitor for the price. However, I did have 2 issues with the flickering screen that went away on its own shortly after.

    • Funny have the same issue with the non usb c model. Took a while to convince dell it’s a component fault as only occurs at 75hz, even with exact same monitor running, diff cables, is, pc, mac

    • Had the same issue which would only arise on certain websites and with certain desktop backgrounds. Had to RMA 2 before getting one that didn't have this issue; instead it looked like it's peeling from the top corners and was offered another RMA. Woo.

      • It's most so the combination of colours and if there's any video. Busier screens flashed more.

  • +1

I would wait for March round of 20% sale, bet all the gaming desktop prices will come down more!

  • A dumb question:
Can a webcam be attached directly to S2722QC with USB port? I switch my laptops to monitors and thinking if webcam can be kept connected to monitor and works when I just connect the monitor to laptop.
Or webcam needs to be connected to laptop directly?

    • Can connect it directly to the monitor :)

    • +1

That's how I do it…. Works fine… All USB accessories like webcam, headset, mouse connected directly to the monitors

  • +1

Does anyone have any experience with XPS8950 3070 with thermal throttling?
Im considering it, but concerned about that and the 460W power supply

  • I have another version of the Dell S2722QC I think and the power cord is so sensitive, the slightest movement of the cable at the back and the screen turns off and it takes 5 minutes to find a position where it stays on again.

  • Hi @Dealbot, I am interested in x14. AU $2,899.00 after coupon. Any ideas could help bring this down please? Can Stack with 3 % ebay gift card (shopback) and 1.5% cashback from cashrewards. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/334342814774?hash=item4dd8627c36…

    • Could anyone help bring this price down please. Any tips will help

  • Bought two S2722QC for $369 each, decent price for an excellent 4K IPS monitor. Anyone can suggest a good dock for these displays?

  • Hey @Dealbot, any chance of S2721DGF under $400? Looking to grab a 2nd. Thanks

  • Why no x15r2 and x17r2? @dealbot Any chance add them in?

  • World the S3222HS make a good TV?
Ive got a 4k firestick from Amazon sale

  • bought one thanks!

  • What's a better deal between the alienware and the XPS system. I don't play game, but like to process photos on lightroom, so very light processing power requirement.

    Cheers guys!

    • +1

      Definately the XPS

12700 is better than the 5800x, about 10% faster at least.

The nvidia gpu will be better supported by adobe products. The 3070 is also ~ 35% more powerful than a 6600XT

The intel XPS system also has DDR5 ram (faster again), and twice as much of it. It also has 1tb hdd, double the size of the other system.

The alienware system should be at least $400 cheaper to be a fair comparison

      • Thanks man. That's a great mini summary! I'm on a xps at the moment for almost 6-7yrs so it's been great. Ordered one! 👍

    • the alienware is a new design with better airflow and water cooling ect, so the specs are where they make the savings

buying the xps factor in a new ATX case/PSU and MB to rebuild it so you can have better water or air-cooling, overclocking on the K cpu's and stability with a better PSU than the one dell toss in!

  • I need 2 monitors for work from home.

General word processing etc but do need to use Large sheets and Miro boards etc.

Any recommendation? Never bought a monitor before.

    • Definitely 27" 4k as a minimum. Ultrasharp if you can afford but not on this deal..

  • +1

dell told me the Dell XPS 8950 has the default intel cooler and it sucks monkeysballs! Given the new socket in this XPS case changing it for water or even AIR might be problematic, as is the PSU. Its underpowered and this seriously effects gaming particularly stability!

Also rocketlake-intel and 4xxx GPU are now less than 6 months away too, so 12thgen and the 3xxx series as well as a new standard for PSU with pcie-5.0 16pin power PSU is comming to computers (PSU are being released NOW)

  • S2722QC listed at $461.25 and PSDETCH coupon returns a “The code can’t be applied to your order”???? Is it over?

    • You need to register account in Australia eBay ste.
Even I was getting same error while oversea registered eBay. Created new account and purchased one QC monitor 30min back

  • +2

If someone wants to buy monitors and are tossing between Dell and Xiaomi, my suggestion would be to not even think twice! Even if it’s cheaper don’t get the xiaomi!
My Xiaomi 34 which was bought in Dec 2020 blacks out for a few seconds and then comes back. I use it with my Mac have changed the cheap Amazon cable to a good quality belkin hdmi cable hoping that it will help but it hasn’t…
It is increasingly uncomfortable and irritating and is more often than before.
On the other side my wife uses 2x27 Dell with her XPS and has no problems even with cheap display port cables!
Have updated to the latest OS and have done all basic troubleshooting but to no avail!
I am still not sure of the reason!!
I would suggest Dell over the xiaomi !!!
Contacted PC byte from whom I bought. No response to 3 emails. Need to call them but it’s past 12 months so am not sure what they can do !!!
    Anyway, Dell is fantastic!
    Thanks dealbot

    • Digital signal cables like HDMI either work or don't, no partial work.

  • Thanks dealbot !

  • What else can we stack up with other than cashback of 1.5 percent and 3 percent gift card of eBay?

    • Cashback works with this promo code?

      • Good question need to check that. It would be good to bring down the price of the item more

    • I guess we can find discount TCN gift cards that sometimes available at 10% discount (or equivalent points) at Cole's or woolies

  • Folks, hoping for some help, I connect HP laptop via usb-c into a HP dock with these ports:
    1 USB Type-C™ (front); 1 USB 3.0 (side, charging SS); 3 USB 3.0 (back, charging); 2 DisplayPort™; 1 HDMI 2.0; 1 RJ-45; 1 headphone/microphone combo.

I only run a single 27inch HP monitor at the moment and use my laptop screen as the second one. With this dock, could I connect 2 x 4K monitors and which one should I go for in this deal? I’m assuming it’s the S2721QS for the DP port.

My plan had been the LG 34inch LG 34WN780-B Ergo, but I’m wondering if 2 x 4K might be better. My use is for work only. Thanks

  • +1

Looks like a lot of people are buying the S2722QC compare to S3222HS. What is the advantage of S2722QC other than usb c? Mostly using for webbrowsing and office applications and ocassional gaming.

    • +1

The 27" is a 4k ips whereas that 32" is a 1080p va Panel, meaning that despite being a smaller panel it has literally 4x the pixels (so up to 4x the usable realestate depending on scaling). In my opinion, 2560x1440 is the comfortable minimum for a 32", and 1080p is far too low resolution for one.

      • The 27 inch has heaps of review on google and on ozbargain, the 32 inch does not have any review on google. Probably will get the 27 inch. I assumed you bought the 27 inch in the previous deal?

        • +1

Nah, I find 27 too small for me, was just responding to answer your question. There likely won't be many reviews for a 32" 1080p as big low Res screens aren't that popular. I have dual 4k 32's. There isn't even a comparison between these, the 27 is the vastly superior option

  • Does it seem that S2721QS has better luminance and overall better performance? - https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/dell-s2722qc-vs…

  • Dell, Can you please add some inspiron 2in1 14” to ebay please? 15” is too big 🥺

  • Hi all, has anyone received their monitor yet? I ordered the S2722QC on 25/2. Ebay status says paid, not yet shipped. I msged dell on eBay but haven't got a reply yet.

    • I ordered mine on 26/2 and I received a text a couple of hours ago saying it’s shipped with an ETA of tomorrow. Hopefully yours will ship soon.

  • I did a comparison of XPS 3070 LHR before and after the price drop.
Actually this is not just a price drop by negotiation, the configuration has been changed on
    - CPU from i7-12700k to i7-12700
    - second HD from 2T to 1T

And I have contacted the DELL sales, it's not possible to upgrade the power to 750W.

  • damn, 12700 + DDR5 16*2 + 3070, I admit I flipped

  • Thanks OP, just asked the Dell eBay Rep to upgrade a liquid cooling and white case. Really good deal to fit my use.

    • if you don't mind, how much extra was that?

  • Got my S2722QC, feels a lot heavier than the 2K version. panel wise it seems almost the same as the 2K versions?

    • Also the 2722QC is significantly a lot less brither than the 2K version at teh same contract and brightness settings.

      • How's your unit? Did you notice any high pitched noise/buzzing/whining when switching input sources or the monitor going into standby? Mine does that and it's quite annoying when in a quiet room. Not sure if it's normal for this model.

I've had quite a few Dell monitors and none of them make a noise like that, or at least as audible as my S2722QC.

        • Yeah I have the same problem.
Did you find any solution to fix it?

  • Any suggestion for the best settings for S2722QC for long hours working? expecting to receive it tomorrow

  • The Dell XPS 8950 is really tempting, anyone been able to have Dell add more RAM with an Ebay deal? Looking to up it from 32gb to 64gb and not void the warranty.

    • They will reject

      I have tried.

    • Actually, you can ask for any upgrade options available on Dell website, they will offer them. If you can't find options on their official website then you can't.

  • How is this monitor for photo editing? I have a 8+ year old U series 24" dell currently

  • NOTE: On the for Dell XPS 8950 computers shipped with a 125 W processor get the AIO Watercooling by default, while the 65W (non K) gets the defualt intel cooler (which is better than the previous 11th gen one. RM1 cooler https://www.tweaktown.com/news/83553/intels-new-12th-gen-cor…

    • I did ask for upgrading to the liquid cooler. The only thing that can't be upgraded is the PSU… sad.

  • When is this deal expiring?

  • What are your thought for S3222HS? Anyone who received and setup and use it…any comments are very much appreciated. Thank you

  • I've picked up 2 monitors in the previous eBay Dell sale (20/1) and still haven't received it yet. I've contacted Dell 3 weeks ago and haven't heard back since the original reply saying they will chase it up with courier… Anyone got an idea what I should do next? I've contacted Dell twice via eBay since then as well

    • Did you end up getting your monitor? Didn't realise Dell would be so slow…

      • I've just got my first one yesterday and still waiting for another one.
Both monitors were damaged (water) via transit, but it was just sitting in Startrack express's warehouse and they didn't notify Dell nor me. It took 2 weeks for Dell ebay to reply to my enquiry and took another 2 weeks to get a response from StarTrack.
I was never contacted nor provided an updated consignment number.. it just appeared yesterday at my doorstep. When 1 was delivered I called StarTrack which advised the original consignment (the original damaged monitors), one of them is still with them. Dell only requested for one to be returned! I have since advised Dell Ebay of this and haven't heard back today.

To be honest, this is the biggest screw up I've experienced from Dell, and I have totally lost faith with Ebay Dell since there is no way to contact them except via Ebay messaging (which their average reply takes 2 weeks). I know Dealbot had got us some killer deals here, but even he has gone AFK to my private message.

Anyway it is what it is… I guess by getting a good deal here probably means i shouldn't expect to get a decent service.

  • So undecided on getting this Dell XPS 8950 and upping the RAM to 64GB for another $700 which makes it a little pricey… What are the chances of another sale this month with better deals like an i9 12900 or a machine with 64BG RAM?

  • Ordered on on 8th march and delivered today. How do we get tax invoice for this

    • I say send them an email.
