    PIA is owned by Kape Technologies. A known malware company. AVOID.

    You're getting paid to use their VPN because YOU are the product.

        Mullvad is open-source and considered secure.

        ProtonVPN is well regarded too.

        But the best option is always to create your own. Grab a server from OVH and set one up, it's far less complicated than you think.

            @boomramada: Not everyone has such little self-worth to sell out for a few bucks. But you do you.

            @boomramada: Are you happy to give someone access to your wallet for loose change?

              @soda-pop: I haven't done any transactions over the VPN, why on earth you need to put all your traffic thought VPN? Even if I do, it be over SSL, that be enough.

                @boomramada:

                I use PIA , they use my data and pay me 10% for the service, isn't that win win?

                Says it all really.

      • Other options would be:
        OECK, which is is an Australian company and well regarded.
        Windscribe, which I have been using for the last 3 years. Very happy with them. Canadian owned and based. I still kick myself for not buying the lifetime option though at the time.

        • 5 eyes

          • @cheaponos: I think that the 5 Eyes alliance has now crept up to 14 eyes to include more European Union countries. I don't have a problem with this as Europe has strong privacy laws (GDPR).
            The whole Eyes thing has been really blown out of proportion from a scaremongering perspective. Yes potentially the FBI, Interpol / Europol can request your VPN to provide logs as part of CRIMINAL investigation. They will not do this because you downloaded the full boxset of Game of thrones.

    I bought this offer last time on the 20/12/21, it is still pending, suppose to be confirmed by the 6th March. So don't expect the refund quickly, if you will ever get it.

  • Don't buy this. I use PIA and there service is terrible. Want to switch to another VPN service before my current contract expires but not sure what one to get? Any advice appreciated.

  • Just got my shopback confirmed this morning with the 8/1 deal, I got $126 back. I’ve had no issues with the service, I only use mine for browsing and downloading.
