  • Thanks OP. Goes nicely with my two new 5ah batteries

Can cut but not suitable for hardwood material unless specific cutting 185mm blade. Diablo blade is way the go.

    • It's worked well for me

    • Yeah it cuts through hardwood no problem. Love mine.

I had this saw in the past and I had no issues cutting through hardwood. The brushless one (DHS680) is more powerful (5000 rpm vs 3700) but this is not a toy either.

PS: Not sure what you mean by "185mm blade" as this is a 165mm saw.

      • Yes it is 165mm, not 185mm. my bad.

    • Which model blade do you recommend?

      • 185mm blades are very cheap and easily available on special often even the higher toot counts ….. it’s what my corded is …..
problem is in brushless 185mm need stronger motor or you need brushless so the cost goes up vs 165mm ….so if 165mm has the depth of cut you need you can use a cheaper saw motor ……my brushless is dewalt 165mm from one of the bunnings deals from ozbargain ($240 inc 5ah battery) …..for 185mm i have corded …. blades and ease of cut ….look at the kerf ….. large kerf makes teeth stronger but need stronger motor ……small kerf means less wood to remove so can use smaller motor but teeth smaller so not as strong …….cordless has made a new market for narrow kerf blades ….same with chainsaws …. stihl use a narrower chain on their cordless saws than the petrol for same size blades ….

  • It used to be $209 from memory. Highly rate it.

  • Does it come with a basic blade, 24 to 40T? I'm tempted to use this as my gateway drug for a cordless Makita ecosystem! Batteries and charger n next😭

      Better to buy a kit

  • The brushless one (DHS680) is a bit better but at this price this makes the cut I suppose
