Reckon the AIO will come with the lga1700 bracket?

    • Surely if it’s bundled?

i think u can get them for free at PLE.

I rang up today to buy a NZXT kraken lga1700 bracket and the guy on the phone said just come we will provide it for free lol

i didn't even buy my aio from them.

    • The 360mm version that came with the 12900k bundle had LGA1700 mounting equipment, so in theory this should have it too.

    • I know the Waterforce X AIO came with 1700 bracket, not sure about these ones, but I'd assume so. They were made of plastic though, didn't like that.

  • How’s the quality on the AIO?

be sceptical of anything gigabyte, theyve done a lot wrong lately
most recently is reddit talk of a class action against the water force water block gigabyte cards

    • One of the plastic fittings on the pump end looked a little loosey goosey compared to the one on the other line on mine. I'm not sure if it's within spec, but I think I might just slap a cable tie around it later juuuust in case.

The real problem is the software for controlling the AIO fan controller + RGB. It's very uhh, Windows XP-era in it's appearance. The fan speed curve is controlled by the CPU temp as well, not the liquid temp. I ended up just slapping a flat speed on it and uninstalling…

Another nitpick is the fans go all-out for a couple seconds on a cold start. Vroooooooooom. It's loud.

      • Yeesh what's with gigabyte. They used to be one of the big producers now they seem to be on a spiral to closing with this kind of performance.

    • I have the Waterforce X 360mm and from my experience, just messing around with the orientation of the hose caused one of the plastic brackets to snap, which was used to keep the mesh cover of the tube in place. My LCD screen also turns off by itself now, I thought I fixed the problem by providing it with a dedicated SATA cable(was using splitter for SSDs etc), but seems like the problem came back and I can't be assed to fix it.

  • How would this 12600k compare with a 12700k for heavy excel work? Is it a lot of difference?

I am also considering the 5900x but the it is end if life for AM4. Any thoughts?

    • I got a 12600k. thought it was best value/performance point. It uses a fair bit less power, and has a faster base speed, despite 4 less cores overalll. Its one of the fastest CPU's in the world at the moment. Not sure how 'heavy' excel use can get, but I think it should be ok.

Maybe check your CPU usage currently in resource monitor, and if you need more cores.
