Why is that?
Because Galaxy Buds 2 is a newer product than the Buds Live.
They took all of the learnings and features of the Live and fit it into a more compact package.
Also at the same time they improved on some of the aspects.If you google the differences between Buds 2 and Live, most reports say they are the same except Buds 2 is slightly better.

And if you dont like Kogan, you can price match via Officeworks for an extra 5% off.The Kogan link is grey market international model whereas OP has shared an Australian model. The Aussie local stock comes with local warranty and ease of mind which I personally prefer.
I agree to all your points, however the fit is really bad. My buds 2 always fall out.
Tried all the 3 different size of ear tips none of them work. Surprisingly my Airpods pro have the best fit.

Entirely different style of buds mate.
They are very different. The in-ear design will be better from an audio perspective compared to open designs like the Live. However, I find that when you use it for phone calls, the passive noise isolation from the in-ear seal makes it very unnatural and uncomfortable when you speak.
Love these… I never liked the in-ear ones so these are great and extremely comfortable for my ears… I have the black ones though and using them with an iPhone with no issues
There are (were?) a lot of $30 sets of these for sale that people were reporting as fake. Is there a good way to tell genuine from non?
I wouldn't mind getting a second charger, as I sometimes leave mine at work. Does anyone know if the fake buds case can charge genuine buds?

Agreed, but how about $100? How do you know if they've jacked up the price on fake buds versus good price on genuine?
Probably safe to assume that they're going to use pics of the real thing, so I guess you're not going to know until you receive them. It sounds like the fake ones won't auto pair, and won't connect to the Samsung app.
You take some pictures of the counterfeit and get your money back from Amazon.
Unless you like the design, it might be better getting the Galaxy Buds 2 as its a more superior product.
