Free $5 via Wallet @ Finder App

780
SETUPWALLET

Similar to yesterday's $5 WELCOME deal.

It will work on top of that/other promo/party/referral codes, new or existing. Party codes here.

In the finder app, go to 'Wallet', then 'Got a code?' then enter 'SETUPWALLET' code for $5 added to your wallet. Edit: on iPhone it is "Settings > Redeem a Promo Code" thanks doweyy.

Note: To withdraw the $5 + anything else from your wallet, you need to make a deposit (even if it's $1) and then wait 3 full days. After that you can withdraw instantly to your bank account. eg.

  • Worked here. Referral, Bitcoin drop, Welcome5 and setupwallet all applied.

Out of curiosity, where did you find the code?

    • +2

Got a push notification 10 minutes ago from the Finder app.

    • +1

WELCOME5 one happened to me the same way, think these codes were meant to be targeted but lol

    • Same except the WELCOME5 didn't work for me

  • So can I sign up for this using a referral code to get the $10 and then this on top to get the extra $5 if I've never used it before? And it's kept in AUD$ right unless I choose to buy crypto which can be withdrawn fee free?
Sorry if my questions are stupid, I literally know nothing about these wallet apps.
Also where/when do I enter the referral code?

    • Yes, yes and yes.

      In the wallet, top right

  • Referral and $5 code worked but the party codes failed. Oh well $15 isn't bad

    • If you go here, tap the coin, do you get a $5.53 (or higher) promo code from that? If you are on computer you can scan the QR code from your phone and it adds the code direct to your app.

      • Cheers when I spun out out says $12.?? But once I entered the code it was $5.53 in Bitcoin added to my account.
Thanks :) I'll have to figure out how to sell it but might just let it roll for a bit.

        • In the bitcoin tab you can click sell, it will get moved to your wallet as cash. You could wait until you can withdraw from your wallet before doing that though.

          • @hamza23: Was it 3 days after you deposited the $1 you could withdraw or 3 business days? I still can't withdraw today but I'm guessing it's business days so hopefully on Monday. I saw quite a few people had trouble withdrawing on an earlier post, was part of the reason I didn't give it a go earlier??? Should be fine though :)

@Clarky77: Made my $1 deposit on Weds evening and at some point today (Sunday) the option to withdraw has popped up. Now they want me to upload a bank statement to prove I own the account, which seems like a bit of overkill. Anyway have followed the process and we’ll see how long it takes to be approved…

              • +1

@Melbourne Matt: Thanks, same happened for me! You think they could've done this online given half the point of the app is to link all your accounts and view them in one app & many other companies can verify accounts instantly. Also annoying they block you for 3 days only to make you wait another 3 days for verification? Why not ask for that info on day 1 and verify + let the 3 day "security" period lapse at the same time.
Anyway, it wasn't to difficult once I figured out how to create a statement but still I'm a little annoyed at having to give them all this info, I'm not applying for a credit card I just wanna withdraw money. I should've asked them to send me 3 months of their business account statements before I was willing to deposit ;P lol

              • @Melbourne Matt: Update! Just received an email that they recieved my statement and had unlocked the ability to withdraw. I went straight into the app and resubmitted my withdrawal request and almost instantly it was available in my CommBank account as available funds! So hopefully it's the same for everyone else although it's possible they bank with Commonwealth and might take a couple days to other banks?

                • +1

@Clarky77: Yeah, same here — compliance email came through earlier today and it was an instant transfer out to ING so must just be going via Osko/NPP.

  • Is it just me or is there no "Wallet" tab. i am on an iPhone and I do not see any place to enter the code. Would really appreciate any help!

    • +2

Go to Settings > Redeem a Promo Code to redeem coupons on iPhone

      • Thank you! I definitely do not see that option in my settings. Very strange!

        • Actually please ignore. it finally showed up. Thank you for your help! :)

  • Is the bitcoin drop party every day?

  • Hmm my OzB referral link has been clicked 21 times now, but haven’t received a single referral bonus…

    • I've received 1/5… not bad. I think some people click it a few times.

  • +4

Thanks OP. Worked for me in addition to yesterday's WELCOME one, various referral credits and the bitcoin drop. I'm up to about $200 of free Finder money all up across both mine and my wife's accounts.

Also thanks for the tip on withdrawals. I'd been wondering about that as I was still getting the "withdrawals are closed" message even though it's way more than 3 days since the account was opened. I've transferred in $1 of actual real money and will wait out the three days…

    • Didn't realise how easy money this was damn. Missed the drop party.

      • There should be some drop codes still going if you haven’t claimed one one yet. Mostly the $5 ones but a few higher value seem to pop up from time to time. You only get one go at that though, but you can get $10 with a referral code from the randomiser if you haven’t already and then stick your one in to the referral system — maybe I’ve just been lucky but I’ve had mine and my wife’s hit a heap of times (another couple of $10 credits tonight). It remains to be seen how easy it is to get the money out of course! We’ll see…

        • How do you find your referral code? Just got a $50 Bitcoin drop from the crypto wallet screen.

          • +1

@Agret: Nice work. I think the easiest way to find your referral code is to tap the drop party banner in the app. Somewhere on there is the option to invite a friend and if you click through it will give you your code.

            • @Melbourne Matt: I had to put in some money from my bank into that investment platform in the app and then my referral came up instantly.

Can you help me with this in the T&C?

Eligible Entrants will be included in the Daily Draw corresponding to the day the entry qualifier takes place, and all subsequent Draws during the Competition Period. Once an Eligible Entrant has won a prize in a Daily Draw, they will not be permitted to win another Daily Draw prize

Does that mean you can't win anything every day of the promo? Only one win and you're done?

It's weird because it says to join the drop list to "get daily chances at another Bitcoin drop"

              • +1

@Agret: As I understand it the daily draw is separate to the drop promo codes. You enter by doing one of the things listed on the app (refer someone, buy bitcoin etc). Once you are in you’ll be entered into all the remaining daily draws but if you win something in one of them you can’t then win again in another daily draw. I think they email you a code if you win in the draw but not sure as it hasn’t happened to me so far.

  • Is the bitcoin drop party every day?

    • +3

There is a daily draw that you can participate. It triggers when you do any of the following:

Complete a buy transaction within the Finder App, or
Set up a recurring buy within the Finder App, or
Invite a friend via the refer a friend feature in the Finder App. This will require the third party to download the Finder App and create a Finder App account, including completing all user registration and KYC verification requirements for Finder Wallet in the Finder App.

Eligible Entrants will be included in the Daily Draw corresponding to the day the entry qualifier takes place, and all subsequent Draws during the Competition Period. Once an Eligible Entrant has won a prize in a Daily Draw, they will not be permitted to win another Daily Draw prize.

The other Instant Win ticket, which is entered by finding and scanning QR codes that you discover online or at street signs, is also single entry only. Once you've entered a code for an Instant Win you can't enter another.

      • Anyone uploaded a photo of QR on the street?

        • I scanned one just now at my local shopping ctr but it appears to be a generic URL to the bitcoin drop party with a bunch of UTM / tracking parameters about street furniture. The clean link is just https://www.finder.com.au/bitcoin-drop-party

I'm not sure where else the drops can be found. Cooni probably knows more than I do.

  • Doesn't seem to work if you sign up today :/

    • works for me

    • +5

Proof of vaccination required. Sorry about that

    • Signed up 2yrs ago according to the app and doesn't work for me.

  • +2

    SETUPWALLET does not work anymore.

  • +3

if you have newly created a wallet, you can use any referral code from the referral link to get $10 the first time. It worked for me even after my wallet was setup.

  • +1

    Not working for me

  • So why would I use this rather than Celsius?

    • Free money.

  • +1

    Doesnt work for me

  • The SETUPWALLET code didn't work for me. Also the identity verification failed even though I entered everything correctly. Seems this app is pretty glitchy.

  • Opps! Something went wrong

Try and enter your code again or reach out to us for help. Besure to check that the code is still valid.

Can we get an answer from rep? Not working.

    • Msg me if you need help or code

  • +1

    Cheers Hamza good stuff!

  • Has anyone tried withdrawing the cash? Signed up Fri, but still getting the error message that withdrawals are closed and cannot be processed within first 3 days of my first deposit.

    • +2

Have you deposited at least $1 cash into the account? It says you can only withdraw 3 days after deposit as explained by OP earlier.

  • What's the purpose of using this app? And are there any better alternatives to it?

    • +3

At the moment it is mainly for getting as much of Finder's free money as you can. I suppose you could use it to buy crypto if that's your thing, but DYOR and check the terms and conditions if you're considering depositing your own cash. As you'll see in the terms Finder is not a bank so none of your deposits are protected. You don't even legally own the crypto (Terms of Service 2.4 (a)) but rather have a "beneficial interest". If anything happened to Finder as a company you would be way down the list of creditors…
