Any street corners in Melbourne where one can pay cash?

  • Required signature??? I wouldn't recommend anyone buy anything crypto related and use a real home address. PO box or aus post collect address.

    • Why not?

Wrench attack & scamming attack. Ledger had their web store hacked and released all customers names, addresses and phone numbers. Then scammers started sending "replacement" devices to customers who used them and lost everything.

You can request personal information be deleted after purchase.

        • Then it's a good thing Trezor delete all customer data within 90 days.

They could waterboard me, but I'll never give up my 0.00153 bitcoins!

Because the price of Crypto especially BTC has reached a point people are happy to knock on your door then on your skull to get it.

Trezor delete all customer data within 90 days of purchase.

      • How would they process a replacement should there be a device failure but no customer to link it back to?

        • How can you return or get a replacement for items you buy in person with cash? Proof of Purchase. They'll still have record of the sale, it just won't have customer data linked to it in their records).

          • @tenpercent: Yeah, that's fair. It just seemed a little bit odd to me at first that a company wouldn't keep records to link a receipt to their customer. But I guess when it comes to crypto and the like, not having that link is a good safety net for customer reassurance (if that's indeed what's happening).

Maybe send your items to Parcel Collect and pick it up from post office.

    • Then you're vulnerable to a postie in the middle attack….

  • Why would you trust crypto hardware wallet companies like Trezor etc
can they still put a bug in the software to somehow steal your password and hence your coins?
Also who audits their software? for security? and good safe code practices?
Where there is a will there is a way ;))

      Thats Ledger ur thinking of…

    • +1

Um, because their device firmware and applications suites are all published on github. https://github.com/trezor

Audit it yourself, compile it yourself, install it your newly audited and compiled firmware on your device.

You're right, there is always a way, but minimising the risks is what it's about. And I believe this hardware wallet is less risky than leaving the 14 XRP I'm riding to the moon, on an exchange.
