    Lol

  • What's the difference between his and a regular 3d printer and why does it matter?

A resin 3d printer will be able to do much more detailed prints, especially smaller details or on smaller prints. It can also be faster for multiple prints due to how it works - a resin printer uses a LCD screen to cure resin in certain spots where a traditional 3d printer extrudes heated plastic where you need it for the print - so each layer will take the same time on a resin printer regardless of how full the build plate is, but a traditional one will take longer to print multiple prints as it needs to move the bed and nozzle to each spot it needs to deposit plastic. A traditional printer is safer in that resin is toxic and needs to be handled correctly (including the finished prints, which need to be left to dry and then cured - either in the sun or with a UV curing station) where the filament used in traditional printers is thought to be non toxic (most still take precautions when printing in case it is, as the method used is effectively burning plastic….and it can give off a bit of a smell) and is safe once printing finishes, traditional printers can handle larger items (this resin printer is 127x80x160mm max size vs a Creality Ender3 for around the same price which is 220x220x250mm). So really it depends what you're intending to use the printer for.

As mentioned by others, resin printer will enable amazing detail and resolution, but generally smaller prints (the build plate is significantly smaller).
Lots of people use them for making models for board games. Also amazing for small functional prints (like replacing plastic parts in whitegoods) due to accuracy of prints when compared to traditional printer.

Downside is the toxicity of the resin used, and the amount of time you need to dedicate to cleaning and curing prints to make them safe. Also there is cost involved in all of the additional equipment needed like gloves and paper towel and other personal protection.
