That will result in the post getting less views though…

        FEWER views even…

        • why?

      • Good views from the "Plane" apparently :)

      Telstra Upfront Mobile Plane

I didn't know Telstra was in the aviation market 😜

  • +1

I originally signed up to the XL plan in June 2021 also for $65, i.e. $50 off for 12 months.

Can I re-sign now and get another 12 months of $65?

    • usually… just contact them on chat and they'll probably do it for you.

    • I'm in the same position on this current deal I'd like to resign again so I can get the data share option as when I signed nearly 12 months ago it was not an option

    • +1

When I was on this plan (which I got with the iPhone 12) they messaged me and just said "we're continuing your discount for another 12 months!" so I see no reason why they won't just do this for you over chat or in store. Haha

      • +1

Just about finished doing it over the phone now

        • Goooood! :)

        • How did the signup go?
          I’m getting resistance on chat
Any ideas on how to make the switch half way through a contract for existing customers?

          • @aibargain: Hello I just rang through and ask if I could resign up from the already existing same deal I was on.
She said yes took about 30 minutes but that was also setting up a Data Sim so I can Data share.
When I tried to do it at the Telstra Shop at Xmas time I had no luck but got it all sorted on this deal.

  • Please Tell telstra about one shop in Oz named JB Hi Fi

    • +1

JB Hi Fi plans don't come with Disney+

      • JB Hi-Fi does come with a $300 voucher but has slightly less data

        • Oh Yes! I would prefer voucher over Disney+

        • Is this the best current jb deal?

          • +1

@hippyhippy: It looks like it, but sometimes they'll up the GC in-store to $500 or offer $800 off a phone purchase at the same time. It's not usually advertised on their website, though.

        • +3

          Telstra vs. JB HiFi Plan

          $65 vs $69
          180GB vs 100GB
          M2M vs 12-months
          Disney+ vs $300 GC

Telstra plan also has International calls (30mins) + SMS, data sharing, etc.

          • +1

@wellzi: No JB gc for existing Telstra customers

            • @mandelbrot: That's correct, or Boost/Belong. Ports & New only.

          • @wellzi: So can't data share with Jbhifi's Telstra? I guess Telstras "One Number" wouldn't be available also?

            • @Italkdigital: Edit: sorry I thought I was on a JB thread.

Yeah these are the new plans so should be able to do data sharing and one number?

    • existing customers?

      • I'm already on this deal Witch is due to expire soon and I just went to upgrade my plan from the app and it let me ad it to my cart that's as far as I went I'm waiting to get confirmation as I don't want to get stuffed around if something goes wrong with my account.
        But looks like we can

  • Have been on this plan for a few months now - pretty decent value. Originally singed up for the hefty data, reliable network and 5g performance but am actually now looking to steer away from Telstra and on to a cheaper plan for savings purposes.

Although I am not sure if there are any service providers that provides all those features at a considerably lower cost.

    • If you want to wait a year
I'm currently with Vodafone and personally the coverage seems to have gotten worse

    • was on a jb telstra plan last year, moved to vodaphone because it was cheaper, moving back to telstra, coverage and reliability is horrible

    • Who are Vodaphone? Never heard of them.

  • Thanks OP. Been waiting for this to sign up again for one of my business sim.

  • I'm about to finish my 12m plan with Telstra and am excited, I cannot wait to get back to any other provider on sub $10 a month. Cannot justify the extra $50 a month.

    • +1

What provider are you looking at?

      • I'm with Belong through the Telstra points deal for 4 months. I'll switch over to the Kogan $1 month sim and then do another round of Belong starter pack with Telstra points

    • Telstras Belong is boosting there minimum plan from $10 to $15,.. go Telstra 👍😏

  • +1

Good deal.. But I'm not convinced with these new upfront plans.

I'm still on an old $69 telstra plan that gets me 90gb data and unlimited international calling as well as unlimited roaming usage for calls/sms and 2gb data for use when roaming..

  • Looks like Telstra is pushing all customers particularly new ones to these up front plans?

Not convinced yet as to what the benefit is for the consumer….

    • +1

As I see it.. No benefit for the consumer. Youre out of pocket one month in advance rather than paying in arrears, and it also removes the ability for you to take your mobile overseas and use it for roaming, without first activating a "roaming day pass"

  • I had this deal back in Nov 2020, which they extended in October 2021 til June 2022.
I don't need so much data so will probably downgrade my plan to the $65 plan in June if it doesn't get extended again.
Rather than have to keep track of when the promo expires and then get hit with the full $115 monthly fee.

  • Imo, Boost is best value. Its my 3rd yr with them. No 5G but

  • Okay all done was on this deal mine was about to expire I rang Telstra got a helpfull Lady
Told me she would process new 12month order to existing number and account also organized my 15$ Data sim from another I'd number I had to current mobile account so I can Data share same account now.
    All done 25 min call
That's for anyone interested who is currently with Telstra

Anyone recently signed over to another carrier to resign under jb ? Any issues?

    • you need 30 days between , also Aldi is a good choice as being on Telstra its super quick moving back and forth

      • ive previoused churned out the day before and went back the next day… so cant do that no more?

  • Signed up for the same offer end of last year because I was already using Telstra’s large upfront data plan ($75 for 400GB) as my primary home internet connection and this allowed me to bump up the total data allowance to 580GB. I find 400GB a tad smaller than what I generally use at home in a month but 580GB is enough.

Or if you are a very light internet user then you can perhaps get their upfront small data plan for $15 and sort out both your home internet and mobile plan for $80 a month.

    • Exactly what i done today

  • It is an old deal, carrier exclusive with no waiting time. JB or GG wanted 30 days clearance, carrier sais if you can buy a $5 Lebara card and port they straight take you back the next day. Unsure if they do esim now, on the $115 you can have it so have same number on watch or compatible tablet.
