Century Ultra Hi Performance Car Battery 75D23L $179 (Was $239) C&C @ Autobarn

350

My car battery recently failed and found this to be a pretty decent deal from Autobarn.

Supercheap Auto can also price beat it if you meet their conditions. I bought this at $239 at SCA yesterday before seeing the Autobarn deal and managed to get a $62 refund today as a price beat.

Autobarn also has various other Century batteries on special.

Check to see if it fits your car here:(https://www.centurybatteries.com.au/resources/battery-finder)

First post, apologies if anything is incorrect.

Can this be used for Mercedes Benz B180?
    Thank you

  • Can you use any car battery for any car or does it have to be size specific? arent they all 12 volts

    • It needs to fit in the bonnet and if you have a stop-start system you need a special one

      • I recently replaced my car battery with a bigger fatter battery given from my family.

It works but it's not sitting in battery container properly.

Might be a proper fitting battery
But it is running my car well enough. Not sure if I should buy a new one

        • Batteries should be secured. Either get a new mount or battery.

They are all 12v, but they will have a different level of CCA (Cold Cranking Amps), basically how much juice it can give your starter motor when cold to kick start your engine. A larger engine needs a higher performing battery (greater CCA) than a smaller one, despite them operating within the same voltage range.

Think garden hose vs fire hose, 'don't they both use water?', yeah but one has much more output.

Also terminals/clamp sizes vary, the negative and positive terminals can be L/R specific aswell as height and width. That's what a lot of the extra numbers in the model numbers designate.

  • I've been finding the Century Ultra's being the best value at SCA. As stated, they also price beat. I'm sure they also do the SCA members card, where if the item goes on special within 1 week after purchase the credit (difference) is applied to your card for your next shop.

Good as a doorstop after 18 months. Rubbish batteries.

    • Am looking for a din75L EPB for a start/stop 2015 Mondeo. Do you have any recommendations as been thru two of the Century batteries since 2017 and wondering if there is a better manafacturer?

      • Im after DIN85LH AGM but that's also not on promotion presently. Repco seems to be the best price but their 20% sale is expiring 15 Mar.

      Don't they come with a 40month warranty?

So technically 2 replacements are free (if they only last 18 months).

    • Did you maintain yours? Batteries are not set and forget.

      • +4

Their marking says otherwise “With a maintenance-free design you can set it and forget”

        • LOL!

      • Valid comment. Some batteries may be maintenance free these days however, inspection & cleaning of terminals and battery space to keep corrosion at the minimum and thus keeping the battery operated system operational is still required. Don't know why you were negged.

Century are the Scomo of batteries, all marketing and p p performance. If you are not getting more than 5 years from your battery look elsewhere.

      • Can you elaborate where to look 'elsewhere', think Century-Yuasa used to be a leading brand when I last checked.

    • +2

Agreed. I've had 2 century batteries in the past where they've managed to fail only after 2 years and my car is driven regularly. I've used other brands such as supercharge and SMB in other cars that arent driven regularly and they've managed to last more than 5 years!

    • That Exide has lower CCA and lower capacity, maybe equivalent to 55D23L

  • My RACV battery lasted over 5 years

    • My NRMA battery died one day after warranty expired… 😀 never buying from them ever.

  • Bought this battery for a van . Which battery do you ozbarginers recommend?
Currently there is a power crank in there and it has been 4 years going to 5th year.
Yasua made in japan is in my partner's car and its been going for 7 years.
