  • Get another 5% on eBay

  • is that enough?
    Refresh Rate: 60 Hz
    Motion Rate: 120 Smooth motion

My current 75 says its 200hz

    • +3

Refresh rate is what matters, motion rate is nonsense marketing jargon

Pretty much all 4k tvs now run at 60hz with higher end models doing 120hz if they have HDMI 2.1 (but other than LG panels, this comes with significant caveats depending on the manufacturer).

      • oic, so this will be fine watching sport?

        • +2

Possibly. Have a check on rtings for their motion response scores. It depends on response times of the pixels as this affects their propensity for ghosting. This varies depending on the quality of the panel and the software underlying it.

Annoyingly, hisense is known to use inferior panels in Aus under the same model names as their american/european counterparts. So ymmv?

It's hard to know. Maybe some forum digging could bring up the answer for ya. Reddit and avforums are useful for this.

Probably best to go into the store and have a look.

      • 100%, i hate this 'motion rate' bs that TV brands are spouting off, people who do a tiny bit of research will know straight away, but its basically scamming everyone else who dosent have the time…

  • This or Aldi one for $1500?

    • This for sure if you have to choose between the 2. The Aldi has 1 year warranty.

I think I saw this at Costco Marsden Park for around $1,700 today. Sorry, I didn’t take a picture. If you’re a Costco member AND looking to buy this TV, might be worth checking before buying at TGG.

Hisense are great value for buck, but software is crap imo.

I've got a 65 i think it's P7 about 3 years old, ive only had 1 firmware update which just recently came through ota a week ago.

Something to consider when buying Hisense

  • Hisense internet price $1949. Does this TV have Freeview app? ( I assume yes including SBS on demand)

  • My bad. Cosco internet price.

  • Does 4k look blocky at 85"?

    • +1

Only if you're playing Minecraft on it.

  • Anyone able to confirm the price in-store at Marsden Park?

"I think I saw this at Costco Marsden Park for around $1,700 today"

    • I think they’ll tell you if you call the store and ask.

      • They wouldn't last time I tried - company policy was the reason quoted.

        • Didn’t know that. Oh well, maybe you need to drive down to Costco as no one else has seen or confirmed it.

Bought last night on ebay for $1950.25 delivered

    • Then you probably don't want to see how much it is right now with the Afterpay code…

  • Anyone who bought an A7G managed to install paramount+ ?
