      Seems like an awful lot for an Ir interface. Thats all it is, right? One-way. Transmit and hope it was received. An ugly hack compared to a proper smart aircon.
      Will not know your energy use.

      What are the benefits? (Bonus if they apply to Home Assistant)

  I have sensibo units but tried the tado, the climate react on the sensibo works a lot better and the setup for your remote control is a lot easier on the sensibo, I returned my tado units to Amazon that was how frustrating I found them.

    Thats great feedback thanks for sharing. The positive i hear regarding the Tado is more design, It looks good and displays the temperature on the device. We have sold the Sensibo for years now and is still our pick of the bunch.
