Amazon has already matched 1099$ and it was 999$ in Jan.

I am hesitating because of the security flaw and wondering how much of an issue it really is

It's currently $999 at Bunnings https://www.bunnings.com.au/eufy-cam-plus-4-pack-plus-entry-… - is this this the same thing?

If you buy it as a normal consumer, you can get flybuys.
If you buy it with a tradie account (PowerPass), you can get it for $949.05.

        Nah different resolution

        • Yes. The deal is for the 2k one. The Bunnings one is the full HD (1k) older model. Same battery life, but lower res. Also it doesn't have the battery backup module for the homebase, but does come with an entry sensor (not sure how useful they are)

Not much of a deal. Was $649 late last year

This one have half the size battery op post. Only last 180 days vs 365 days with op post one.

        • yes the "portrait" ones (2C) have half the battery life (2 cells) compared to these "bullet" type ones (4 cells). However the Solo Cam versions of these bullet ones also have less life, so best check the specs before purchase!

      • Completely different model.

Its pretty decent deal if they include homebase 1 instead 2. Since homebase 1 storage can be expand with microsd up to 128gb. Homebase 2 only got 16gb internal storage with only expansion using nas or subscribe their cloud service.
Amazon sometimes sell this set usually with homebase 1, got eufy kit with 3x camera + homebase1 last month on amazon for $723.

      • yes, there was a bit of a downgrade with the homebase2 only having builtin storage, with no card. Perhaps eMMC storage is more reliable, but hard to compare 16GB eMMC with, say a 64GB endurance microsd.

Also homebase1 has a builtin battery backup, though this bundle includes the optional battery module for the homebase2.

There's a comparison table at the bottom of this page comparing the homebase units. homebase1 also has "face recognition", whatever that means practically…

    • Are these the ones that you can set up to detect from a specific region within the camera view?

      • +1

        Yes, you can create zones

Get the solar panel so u never have to charge it again.

Solid System. Battery life will vary depending on settings, I get 3-4 months out of the one i have in a high traffic area.

I like charging em cause I get to move them just a bit to get that perfect frame. :) Great to irritate the kids and scare the missus via remote mic !

    • What kind of solar panel would you recommend?

I bought 2 of these - refurbished ones on their website, been 5 months still have a few bars left, apparently good for a year. No ragrets purchasing!
