  • Could these Roller Shade Motors be hooked up to just any conventional roller shade?

Also, do these necessarily need to be charged by sunlight?

    • +1

I bought these and fitted them to a standard 37mm roller blind. They have a micro USB charging port on them but I've found the solar panel keeps them topped up. I have them both hooked up to a Conbee II Zigbee USB dongle, then to Zigbee2MQTT and finally controlled in Home Assistant. Hope that helps!

      • Could you let me know how wide the bit that sticks out of the blind tube is? I want to retrofit some existing blinds but don't have a lot of clearance to play with

        • About 8-9mm which is similar to what was already there on mine.

      • Hi,

Does it work with deconz instead of zigbee2mqtt?

        • +1

I could not get it to work with Deconz. That was the whole reason I moved to Z2M and I'm glad I did!

  • I ordered more than 3 months but haven’t receive the parcel. Email Zenismart several times and no response!!

  • Is 0.8Nm of torque considered strong for roller blind motors?

I've got two pretty heavy blinds I'd like this to power. (2mx2.5m windows)

    • Should be ok, technically should be capable with 0.6nm even.

  • Been looking to get one of these, though not familiar with zigbee and what else we have to do to get it to work with google home? Is additional hardware required or does it link directly with google assistant?

  • Also is it still able to manually draw the blinds after installing this? It's a bit of a deal breaker if the motor fails or the battery runs out or if the internet goes offline and the blinds cannot be manually drawn.

    • No override available.

If you get it with remote I believe it use 433mhz so it will still work without internet. Just no Google assistant etc.

  • Ordered 2. Can't wait!
