  • plenty of those drives from the markets but no cases to put them in….

Theres a reason it's so cheap.

I got one from Ozstock a couple of months back. Put my drive in, powered up, and shorted out after 2 minutes. It is filling up a landfill somewhere as we speak.

    AVOID.

    • How can it possibly be so terrible? It is only a case enclosure, not much room for fault. Unless the electronic connection is faulty by design!

      • Mine doesn't work. How can it possibly not? You should ask the supplier.

  • These are terrible. Not worth $1

  • doesn't everyone have a fruit box full of Expansion cases… the hdds are filling microservers

  • Do not buy them!! There is a reason why they are cheap!!! Bought one for 6 bucks and it is gathering dust somewhere…I'll cost you more to send it back and try to get your money back! Stay away!!!!

Oh come on… isn't somebody going to ask:

    a) what drive is inside it?

    b) is this USB 3.0?

    c) is it USB powered?

      d) I'm allergic to peanuts so does it come in any flavours other than SATAy?

    • +1

      a) It's an empty case. You put your own drive in.

      b) Don't know but unlikely.

      c) Also unlikely. 3.5" Drives are typically AC powered.

  • Ok, ill avoid.

  • They aren't meant to be a serious drive enclosure. They are meant to be something you purchase when you are about to turf your old desktop machine but wonder if there is anything worth saving. Why not use your old hard drive? Maybe even get an enclosure for your internal 5.25" dvd drive, you can. That way you can transfer your old files over easily to your new pc as well.
