if you need a card right now you're not gonna find anything better. theres probably an argument for the 3060 if you can find that a price close to the 6600 xt though.
Why prefer a 3060 over 6600xt ?
benchmarks say 6600xt is better than the 3060 there appear to be alot of newer games coming out with AMD optimised graphics in mind. mainly because the PS5 and xbox series X user amd graphics.
some people will say dlss/better ray tracing makes up for the difference in raster performance. i don't agree with it, hence 'there's probably an argument'.

@lachlantula: For the middle-to-budget segment, the DLSS argument is a big selling point as it allows the cheaper cards to compete. RT is more a discussion for the higher-end.
its an ok price for the current economy so I would say get it before it sells out.

As exciting as this all is it's still a shit deal. Don't forget $499.5700XT in Nov 2020 is 8% faster than this card that for some reason costs $40 more.
When something doesn't cost more than 16 months ago it's a good deal. Otherwise it's a shit deal. But yes these are significantly cheaper when you factor in the crypto bs disappearing. But a deal/bargain would be a $499 6700xt. Hard for some to comprehend though because they've normalized inflation or are new to pc.

Similar story for me, holding out for a 5600x/3070 build hopefully around the ~1500 mark in the next few months. Might be a bit optimistic, but i'm not in a huge rush so might as well see how it plays out.

It's pretty gross to see what's effectively a GTX 1080 (made by pepsi not coke) cleared out in 2 days for half a grand. But it's an improvement over the GTX 1070 (3050) that was cleared out for half a grand only a couple months ago.
