    I hate my life

  • My set up is PC > Yamaha amp (old school one) and currently these big floor speakers.

Would these active speakers be suitable? I'm looking for something smaller looking but still hits a loud volume.

      I have the older 1280DB (42W) and it easily fills up a 6 x 6m room.

      • No way that's filling a 36m2 room, maybe your definition of filling is different to mine. I used to have a 1280DB, found it to be clean but very weak and bass was non-existent. Its fine for listening to audio book's, podcasts but not for music

    • i bought the slightly better version R1855DB to use as PC speakers and they are great. when I say "PC" speakers use 42" and 32" TVs as my monitors.

    • Size matters…

  • How's the performance when compared to Logitech G560? (I know the price isn't exactly the same but still)
I'm confused, about which one I should buy? Thanks!

Does this "beep" constantly when they lose connection to the tv via Bluetooth?

  • My Logitech Z623 have finally died on me after 10 years!
I need a new set so contemplating a 2nd hand set of Bose Companion 3 or would these be just as good?
How do they compare to the Logitech Z623?

    • +3

They won't have near as much bass as the Z623s - if you're after a true replacement for the Z623, go for the S350DB 2.1 system

        So impressed with my s350db

        • Same here - they sound a lot more expensive than the $300AUD that i'd paid in Black friday sales 2021.

  • Reckon these would work ok with 12V power in a van? Cheaper than buying a new radio unit and speakers to get decent BT audio, heh. Added bonus of being able to use for movie nights with the laptop!

    • +2

Pretty sure these will need mains power. My Edifier R1855DB has a captive mains lead and says 100-240V, I would think these are the same.

      • Ah, thanks. Was worth a shot, haha.

    • You want a portable Bluetooth speaker. Or get an inverter to plug into.

Was doing some googling, came across a video comparing them to the popular R1700BT:

  • Excluding Bluetooth, what would be the easiest way to connect these to an iMac?

    • +2

Pretty sure they come with an RCA to 3.5mm (AUX), so it’d just be Aux <-> Aux

      • Thank you. I missed out on this sale but I’m sure it’ll pop up again.

  • Grabbed. Gonna use them on my bookshelf.

  • Anyone's shipped yet? I did grab the last one… Worried

      Mine arrived on Friday!

      • New estimated delivery date:

Mine arrived today and I set them up. Pretty happy with them and the sound quality. Would recommend for anyone planning to get these in the future. If they come down to this price again I'll get another pair to setup in my gym.

  • why not spend $50 more for some proper speakers and a class d amp
