god damn it… now I want to build a whole new pc with all these deals.

  • Good for PS5 buyers too, just need a heat sink

How much is a good quality hear sink (if there's such a thing)

      • Under $30 so cheap. This one ships with some Samsung SSD’s. https://www.centrecom.com.au/silverstone-sst-tp05b-aluminum-…

There’s a cheaper one that’s just as good I just can’t remember the name.. might be called Jonsbo I think?

        • He asked for a hear sink. Maybe a stethoscope?

          • +1

@netsurfer: Ohhh my bad haha. You get him a stethoscope and I’ll get myself some glasses 🤓

          • @netsurfer: doh… swipe keyboard strikes again…..

I got the WD SN850 without a heatsink, and bought this heat sink from SABRENT (current deal is $35 + P&H / free shipping if you have Prime)
        https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B09HSQQWCL/ref=ppx_yo_d…

It's specially made for the PS5, and sits in place of the normal slot cover which you normally have to replace after you install a new SSD with heatsink.

I like that's made for this one purpose, and their theory is the larger heat sink helps dissipiate heat better than if you had your own SSD+heatsink underneath the slot cover.

If you get a heatsink, make sure it isn't too tall or it will interfere with this slot cover. Is the slot cover necessary? I've seen some people go without and it still works fine but YMMV!

        • Hey, i bought that one. Thanks for the link.
I felt funny not directly attaching it, and putting it in first. Only just got time now to update the firmware and install it.
          How is yours running?

          • +1

@Cinnamon Crunch: Mine is still running perfectly fine this past month! I've moved my PS4 games to the SSD and they all run fast and fine so far, so i can't complain :)

But yeah agree it was funny to not attach the heatsink to the SSD before slotting it in. hope yours runs well too!

  • trying to get one for my PS5, need a heat sink

  • Damn that is cheap.

Any good pricing on 2TB. Prefer 2TB for PS5 as currently 1TB PS5 is filled up with only like 5 games. I don’t think it’s worth it getting 1TB

    • Here dunno if it's the lowest ever but it seems to be from the last few deals when I searched for it

  • Also lowest price ever on the 2tb at $373.06?

Thanks for the notice. Will update to include

Can still get Rainbow Six Extraction with these drives too https://www.samsung.com/au/offer/ssd-rb6-extraction/

  • Does anyone know if the firmware on these still need to updated? If so, is there any way to do it without a Windows PC?

  • Get the heatsink version from other sellers for $220, plus avoid dealing with HT :)

    • Whats the link to other dealers?
