    Does arlo need subscription?

    • I have been using an Arlo Pro system since 2017. It used to be better usability wise, since they started pushing subscription model pricing the whole system is useless more or less.

I can’t even record video of Arlo Essential cameras which I purchased and added later. All new cameras I add push for various paid features or “smart” subscriptions in app, can’t even disable those popups. Massively annoying.

I’m going to switch over to something like Eufy once time comes to replace the Arlo.

Hence I advice against buying into this.

      • Yup will go with Eufy

Is 32" 1440p going to look like 27" at 1080p where you can basically see the pixels. I already have a 27" 1440p. Wondering if the upgrade to 32" is worth it.

      I have a 27", 32", 34" wide (which is essentially a 27" in height), all 1440p.

You definitely compromise on clarity on 32".

32" is fine if you're planning on watching video content, but for photography and normal work use I wouldn't recommend.

There's more eye and head movement, which can get fatiguing for work use.

You also need a desk deep enough for a comfortable viewing distance, maybe 750mm minimum.

I don't mind it for gaming, but again you'll definitely notice a decrease in clarity.

That's my little two cents, I suggest going into a store and checking out a few 32"

    • 32" better goes for UHD if not gaming

  • Help needed - I need a 8 port router (LAN ports) so couldn't get the ASUS RT-AX86U. Does anyone know how the TP-Link Archer AX11000 compares to the ASUS RT-AX86U? TIA :)

    • Just a thought, but you could always get a 4-6 port router and add a small network switch for $20 or so

      • Thought about this but got very limited space and the missus does not like the idea of 2 devices sitting at this location ☹

        • Can you get a flat switch the router can sit on?

          • @RMBC: Might give that a go. Will try convincing the the missus again. Hate the location where the WAN cable sticks out. If only I could move it!

@elecpurch: I have a couple of small switches, and the footprints aren't very big, certainly fit under my DSL-AC68U, although it has a flat base rather than the peaked one of the AX68U

      TP-Link Archer AX11000

This is a lot bigger anyway.
