Who gives a Flap over Hashrates..

People who think a few dollars a day is a big deal. An hour overtime equates to a month of running your card flat out.

        • +4

lol not the best deal we've seen here recently, but thanks for posting anyway.

Most of your posts and comments are inane rubbish.

@buffalo bill: so are yours, go play with your dolls or something than watching my posts every minutes lol.

Yeah I don't get overtime and I'm not working extra time so the boss man can get rich. Screw that

      • I'd gladly run my card the whole year if it meant avoiding 12 hours of overtime.

        • That was being generous, more like half an hour.

I wouldn't be buying a card to dedicate it to that purpose, $2 or so a day… its peasantry.

          • @buffalo bill: Lol I'd still leave run it the whole year to avoid 6 hours of overtime.

    • I mean it's the difference between paying back your card in 3 months or 12 months by running a mining program at an optimum power/temperature.

Some may say graphics cards are an asset beyond gaming. A passive income of sorts. Earn while you sleep.

    I don’t get this
Shouldn’t you just buy 3080 at this price point?

      • +4

Funny that he posted that "deal" and got neg'd so hard he hasn't returned since!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not if the 3070ti is adequate for your needs and you're looking to save a few hundred dollars (this was the case for me). I finally ended up ripping the bandaid off, and buying a full a gigabyte 3070ti /5600x build for 1800, you could argue the 3080 is maybe better 'total' value, but I wanted to save a bit more money to put towards a 1440 display.

  • for mining 1660ti is better for best bang for buck?

    • 1030 vanilla

    • Comes down to the price u can get it for.

    • The gtx 980 is a great mining card the 16 series don't mine eth that well

  • Apologies as a bit off-topic.

Assuming I can't fit a card like this into my Aurora R7 to upgrade the RX580 (285-290mm seems to be the max, and that's after replacing the front fan with a slimline model, and none of the "short" 3070ti's and 3080s appear to be on sale), is this deal for a 3070 at $850: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/175204864694

A reasonable alternative to the 3070ti's that all seem to be around the ~$950 mark, in terms of bang for buck ?

    • Not off topic and a reasonable q.
The Gigabyte Gaming OC and Vision are 32 cm long. They are on sale for 934.00

The 3060Ti might be better because you are not paying a premium for the 3070 which seems to be poor value for money.

I'd be looking at this as you would not had to mod your fan and you save around $80.

      Here is another.

It comes down to what you can fit in your case > case mods and also decreasing cooling capacity imo.
Ask yourself if it is worth the headache for the extra perf, if your happy for that extra ~ 10% then go for it, but that GPU is 27.5 cms.
      The 2 I listed are

      Ignore this ^^

I stopped writing right there, I can see your dilemma, the 3060Ti is same size as 3070, you will have better overhead with the 3070, it's 80 more than the 3060Ti, the mini will be a sacrifice.
If you're confident with size and placement, then go for it, measure twice cut once though.

Fwiw the mini is 20 cm long, Idk too much abt that GPU and how much you lose in perf.

      • Thanks for that.

Yeah, I was literally about to pull the trigger on one of the 3080 deals going around when I thought I'd better double-check that the PSU I had would be enough. It never even occurred to me (at that point) that the card might be physically too large to fit in the R7 case. A random google result I looked at luckily had someone talking about trying to upgrade their R7 to a 3080 and really struggling to find one that wasn't too long.

Anything is going to be a massive upgrade from the RX580, but I've recently got a couple of 4k screens so I'm looking for something that'll run at native res - happy to turn the detail down a bit to compensate and mostly playing games that are 1-2 years old anyway (eg: binging MW5 at the moment), but really all I can do with what I have at the moment is run it at 1080p for as good an upscale as possible.

        • 3060Ti and 3070 same size, both will be great in your needs, if you want to be super safe, check out the mini, you leave a ton of room around the GPU for cooling too. I would seriously short list it and if it is as good as the OG 3060Ti, it would be the better deal imo.
