Now eBay plus has gotten even worse, offering a messily $20 promotion voucher, instead of $50 which it used to be back in the days, recently been $40 but now down to $20 a joke.
I think they want to discourage users to signing up to new accounts to get multiple eBay plus accounts that's why this $20 is lower value than $30 that they offer for continuing the eBay plus (i.e. a stay with eBay aka do not cancel ebay plus offering).
But whatever the case not really that great of a deal IMO personally speaking.

      Dont forget that eBay doesn't even offer any decent Plus tuesday deals now like it used to in past e.g. $99 air pods, or $19 soda stream, $20 of some $20 item (by eBay's pricing mistakes), etc.

    My recent experience from signing up… no voucher sent after a few days, had to raise issue. Over a week later, no voucher, no refund of fees (ever apparently), and no interest from ebay to fix it (after several chats with support). Ended up organising a refund through credit card, at which point my ebay plus was instantly cancelled.

    Wont ever be keen to go through that process again no matter the discount they provide.

      I am experiencing the exact same problem. I have spoken to three EBay online agents over the past 10 days. The first two told me that I would receive an email within 24-48 hours. 240 hours later, still nothing.
      Spoke to the third online agent tonight and was told that I would not be receiving the $40 voucher. Insinuated that I was lying about the voucher offer, stating that renewals do not receive vouchers to rejoin EBay Plus. Complete BS considering that I received a $50 voucher when I rejoined in Jan 2021. The icing on the cake was when the EBay representative cut short the chat and refused to answer my questions.
      Will be pursuing EBay Plus management tomorrow morning.

      You should get the voucher instantly when signing up in the browser
      That was at least the process with re-subscribing.
      Voucher code was mentioned on the confirmation page.

        The terms and conditions stated that I would receive the $40 voucher instantly. Never happened. The banner for the voucher has appeared on my EBay app consistently since I cancelled my subscription in January.
        Finally succumbed to the offer only to then not receive the voucher. Really poor form.

        Supposed to, but it doesnt. Have heard a few people on here mention about the missing voucher so i wasnt completely surprised when it happened, but eBays complete lack of support gave me zero confidence they would ever be on my side when something went wrong.

        I raised complaints with ACCC, paypal and my CC bank, and was just fortunate the bank came through with a reversal.

          I also didn't receive email and no message was sent for confirmation of the voucher.
          But the voucher was always mentioned on the confirmation page (can be easily missed, I agree).

          But I did always notice the voucher was active.
          (When I checked an item >$40.01, it shows you could get it for less.)

      Ebay has the WORST customer service.

      I copied and pasted their terms and conditions I met and linked them and ALL 3 reps couldn't give me an answer on why the promo didn't activate on my end. 1 escalated to a manager and he didn't even answer my question nor resolved my issue.

      Not even a voucher to compensate their stuff up.

      The fact that eBay doesn't have an ombudsman we can go to so they get charged alot of all the complaints they get…..

    So you are complaining because they arent giving out their paid service for free any more?

    eBay plus and Prime both have no value to me. Had both, never found anything worth buying that was any different price than no subscription.

    That being said, must be something in it for some people or supply and demand would dictate it goes bye bye.

    Ever shipped anything lately…it's expensive, and inflation (especially fuel and therefore freight) is through the roof. So $20 from $50 seems right to me..if you can use it.

    Sometimes I think us Ozbargainers need to step back and think for a sec.. "$8 shipping kills the deal"… Yet ship that item yourself and it would be "$15 minimum". Someone has to pay that freight.

      Yeah, I'd renew with another $50 voucher, not without. TBH plus has done well for me over the last year, mostly for deals on grog - probably saved me at least $100-$150 on that alone.

    I’m confused. You posted something NOT a deal, and then go to extreme lengths to tell us why it’s not a deal? I mean… it’s well known EBay Plus is for chumps at $50 cost, but why post a deal about it? Forum topic really.

    I missed out on eBay plus renewing, and all the recent specials, eBay plus used to have Coles delivery and movie tickets but the value isn't there, a few 5 dollar coupons I forgot or never used.

    Thanks for posting but for eBay plus sign up, there had been and there will be more beneficial deals. I got this deal:
    49 dollars ebay credit, plus 20 dollars cashback from Commonwealth bank,all just for signing up.

      If you go through cancellation and first opt-in to "stay a member and take the offer" and only then cancel, yes.
      My partner did it a few weeks ago.

          And don't forget to check your messages a few days after you "sign up again". My partner didn't get an email of the $30 GC, but it did come the day after via eBay message.

      No I've never seen it via email. You get it immediately after signup as confirmation and it should be added to your ebay summary.

      I asked my partner to take screenshots when signing up again, so here you go:
      After confirming your payment method you get this confirmation screen, don't just rush past it by clicking ok because it has the voucher code!

      The voucher will then normally also show via ebay summary screenshot here.
