    • Great Tip.. will update post. Thanks mate

Must've been unintentional. They seem to have taken down the battery now - let's see if they will honour those who have put an order through

I got the same email and the same code. So it isn't unique.

    • Thank you for confirming champ

      • champ?

Nw.. happy to help support your only fans

  • Looking for something like this but I don't want to drill into the wall, we have brick. Any suggestions for putting this up or a similar product?

    • You mean you dont want to drill holes for mounting, or drilling to install cabling? (This is wireless if you meant the latter).

If the former, probably would have to use high strength expoxy?

      • Former, not wanting to drill into the bricks for mounting. Thanks will look into expoxy

    • +3

Liquid nail from Bunnings. You just need to pay someone for holding it for an hours

      • +1

That's what the kids are for right 😂 make a game out of it, whoever holds it up till it stays gets $20

        • If you can take off the camera/light from the mount part the you may only pay a half of it ;-)

    • +1

Hi, I’m in the same position few months ago. New house and I don’t want to drill to anything. I used a heavy duty double sided tape from Bunnings (black ones). Works well with the cams and doorbell. Also, it gets a lot of sun but still holds it pretty well.

      • +1

This is good suggestion if it has roof cover on top, better than my liquid nail idea imho

      • +3

Till it doesn't.. and your $200 camera Falls off the wall and smashes on the ground because you didn't want to install it properly.

If it's out in the weather, the sun, rain and wind will destroy that tape pretty quickly.

  • Apparently the battery life is not fantastic…

I am leaning towards adding a pack of Imilab EC2 Wire-Free 1080P cameras to my home setup for the tricky outside installations in two blind spots.
As low as $117 for the 2 camera + gateway pack without really trying so not really too fussed if it does turn out to be average at best.

Apparently the battery life is not fantastic…

Have one of these, and the solar panel add-on. Have it mounted to a pole outside, with good sun. Haven't ever seen it drop below 93% battery with only the single battery pack. Definitely recommend the solar panel if you want a 'battery' solution.

      • Nice one!

Is any Ring branded solar panel compatible?

  • Do users of ring products pay for the subscription?

    • +3

if you want the full functionality - yes. Totally turned me off the product tbh.

    • +2

One device, value for money, for more than one, maybe not https://ring.com/au/en/protect-plans

    • Yes, i pay $150 a year which covers unlimited cameras (i have 7) as well as lifetime warranty on all your cameras while you have the subscription.

    • Yes sadly, been paying $4 a month for the doorbell recording functionality..

  • If you are already on the Ring ecosystem, then this cam works pretty well.

I have this and the door cam and got a spare battery with my Qantas points when it was on sales. They don't run out of battery at the same time so it works pretty well for me. Always have one charged up as replacement and then just swap when one is running low.

  • Ring or Efuy 2K cams…. Thoughts?

  • +2

    Not working anymore…

    • Just tried it in cart only and it works for me. Give it another crack

  • Perhaps a dumb question.. If someone wanted to do something without being filmed could they not just easily pop out the battery..?

    • Assuming you got subscription, by the time person touch the battery, his pic would be in cloud.

    • Or just whack it with a baseball bat while wearing a hoodie…

You'll get an alert that the camera is offline and depending on their positioning you might also get a motion alert from the intruders presence.

    • I guess with any camera, it can be nullified by a can of spray paint to spray on the lens…

But assuming that they'll need to first get close to do so, they should be recorded during the approach.

Alternatively, mount it high enough so that they can't reach the cam without a ladder.

Nothing is 100% protection, but hopefully by having multiple security measures you're in a better position than not having anything.

  • Ahhh, wasted too much time trying to figure out click and collect that I missed out

  • At one point Bunnings was selling this under $100:

      Wireless vs Wired

      • +1

If you read the comments, Bunnings was offering same price on both.

    • yeh the prices have gone up a steadily over the past few months :(

  • are these onvif protocol?

  • In case you only want to spend $40 and don't want to but a subscription, there's a clone available in silver here:
Freecam Wireless Floodlight Camera, 1080p,2-Way Audio, No Monthly Fees, 800-Lumen Brightness, IP65 Weatherproof Silver https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08XBRKLP8/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_9…

I have this and just pretty decent. No battery though so you will need to power via USB.

    • looks pretty decent. u got it installed outdoor? stand up to qld summer heat exposure?

      • At the moment I only have it in my shed, but that does get very hot in the summer (guessing at least 45 degrees)

Never had a connection issue with it either; can't say the same for the crappy swann wireless camera I have that is practically next to it (got the freecam to replace the unreliable Swann camera).

In any case, Amazon have fantastic returns policies

        • just afraid it might melt with QLD summer sunshine when it's getting hit with sunlight all day when set up outdoor on the wall. pretty sure it gets to 60+ degrees.

but i guess for around $60 bux….good if it lasted 1 year

  • What if you don't want to pay for a subscription? Where can the video be stored. Dosnt seem to have an SD card.

    • +9

Then you don't buy the ring camera.

They are pretty useless without a subscription

  • Looks like JBs have cottoned on to the Quick Release Battery Pack hack as it's no longer available on their site.

    • +2

It's probably no longer available on the site because it sold out.

Only 2 left in all of Australia when I checked around 3.5 hours ago.

    • Thank you, will update post.

  • It only allows me to put one in the cart???

    • Just tested and same happening for me. If you need more Looks like you will need to make a few orders maybe?

Don't know why but yeah, its annoying.

  • +1

    Bought 4

Also the online shop only allows you to put 1 per order, so expect extra time when doing your multiple orders….:)
Battery Pack totally ran out of stock, no need to look.

Also the camera, apparently they are running out of stock soon.

    • Cheers for the update mate :)

    • +1

      Swann are terrible.
I have the previous generation, but same name I believe.
Very poor connection. Mostly doesn't connect. If your wifi signal is low (which is most likely), then the image quality is reduced and you can't override that.
      Would avoid it

  • Got 2 of these today and a solar panel. They seemed better value than the Google Nest equivalents. Relatively easy setup, but I'd say the app wouldn't be that easy to navigate for non techy people. Still thinking about what to do subscription wise.
